Opinion What's the deal with layman(s) questioning the credentials and scientific ability of actual experts?

So what is the point of calling it science if it gets dsiproved and replaced ? What made it science in the first place ? Are yoy waiting on someone to tell you what the truth is. If science gets refuted and replaced it was not science to begin with but merely and opinion.

Mechanics can be smart. People who learned to recite books for 5 years can be stupid also. Self thinkers are smart. You gotta be smart to figure who to believe. Just attaching the word science to someone doesn't make me think they are smarter than anyone else and only speak in facts.

Let's say 70% of science is factual ? Define science. Creation of knowledge, or what. A lot of it is bullshit including in medicine and nutrition. Let alone genderism. However gender science which is medicine is simply my opinion. I simply might been born 100% cis and don't realise others aren't.

In many fields of science I got close to no knowledge. In the things I understand or grasp. I notice science =|= facts.

My brother got a economics degree or what is it called. Is an accountant. He will tell you 95% of what he learned in university is never applied at work. In my opinion it's still knowlwdge, discipline, character and education. All knowlwdge is sort of useful in a way.

How would you define the word or term science ?

Yeah people who deny the bible need to ask themsleves why they partake in our cerenomies like marriage, baptism, prayer, asking things from God, funerals, Christmas, eastern, worship. Why do you enter churches. You should. But than you turn around and think you are smarter than God. I work in an advanced support role (currently in the philippines helping train/assist our BPO associates for 2 months), I've wrote training documentation for stuff that customers will tell agents Im wrong about while shadowing and its laughable how some of the dumbest people will lie and argue just to get a different answer than the one they have been given.

I get that (particularly the context of something like COVID), but the conversation I had with one guy is the equivalent of someone trying to deny that the sun exists.

I can measure micro-plastics, quantify it, show it to them in a physical form, and the guy was like "Nope, I don't believe you" (and for the record, I wasn't even trying to make the point of micro-plastics being good or bad, simply that it was a byproduct of manufacturing).

I recently watched a YT video that suggested car tires might be the single biggest source of microplastic. Any truth to that?
