What movies have not aged well?

did somebody say Bloodsport?

Blasphemy!

the one liners from that are enough to make it eternal.

"Very good, but brick not hit back."
"Aren't you a little young for full contact?.....Aren't you a little old for video games?"
"That's Dux, like put up your dukes."
"OK USA!"

We were talking about this the other night while watching Home Alone. Woman gets into a van with a band for a road trip. Scary old man approaches a little boy (who had slept over with Michael Jackson) and sits with him in an empty church. Two men are after a boy. None of this bothered us when we first saw the film, but we all were uncomfortable this time. Times have changed.
Looks like your mind is in the gutter...

Cellphones would have circumvented this whole movie’s scenario

Probably not the way we think though. Parents are too distracted playing Words with Friends that they never even notice Kevin isn't there. Kevin's cool though because he can just Doordash some food and watch porn all day.

A lot of the CGI-heavy movies in the 90s and 2000s look really rough today and to me have aged much worse than many of their pre-CGI counterparts. Was watching Attack of the Clones a few years ago and every time they were in Coruscant I was just so distracted by weird contrast between the actors and the background which looked like it was ripped from an early Xbox 360 game.

Jar's Jar's CGI in Episode 1 is bad. I don't think I noticed 20 years ago because the sound of his voice makes my eyes shake.

What are you talking about, he was the villain so it makes perfect sense. If they remade it, it would be starring R-Kelly.

Want to guess who helped 14 year old Aaliyah with directing and producing that creepy movie?

The matrix reloaded and revolution.

It's just fucking nonsense largely.

When the Asian guy guarding the oracle says to neo... "You don't really know someone until you fight them" even Neo gives him a look to say "da fuq you talking about?!? This is nonsense..."
I love the movies but you ain't kidding. Rewatching that shit is hilarious when I consider the Wachowskis were looking at what they were doing and said, "Yeah, we can sell this." Like, as a conscious decision, "We're gonna go for this dance fighting set to lukewarm techno that goes on for far too long." It's really tough because the Wachowskis definitely do see the humor in their own depictions. Like when the Keymaker announces himself as the Keymaker? After we just opened this door to see a tiny Asian man making like a billion keys. "I'm the Keymaker!" No fucking shit? I thought you were some other guy behind a locked door and a billion keys -- making another key as I am talking to you right the fuck now.

Buy the ticket, take the ride.

LOL at someone saying Heat and then trying to justify it with retarded, nonsensical logic. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, I guess.

I'll have to go with Mad Max. I actually watched it after The Road Warrior and was shocked at how low budget it was. There were some good action scenes, but overall, a slow unimpressive movie.

Why is that racist?

*oh I see, 20 Indians starting on a single white man, yep I can see how you think that's racist. Well, those 20 Indians are racist anyway. Poor white man was the obvious victim there.

This is why I only passed through Southall...

I hope you haven't bothered rewatching Bruce Lee's fight scenes ...

That's funny. I spent a day at a corporate retreat with Gordon when he was the Maytag guy. He was a deeply religious man and a really nice guy. I'm kinda surprised he even accepted a role like that. Course, a guy's gotta eat I suppose.

Rambo 3 and The Living Daylights have been a little awkward over the past 18 years.
Good one. Rambo 3 was glorifying the mujahedeen right before they were enemies of the us. I was watching that a few weeks ago. Awkward

Every single van damme movie.
Bloodsport came on once, I told my eldest "watch this it's great".
My, how some things are best left in the past.....

Bullshit.

Hard target
Nowhere to run
AWOL
Universal soldier
Double impact

All hold up just fine, maybe others, too.

Bloodsport might not hold up - not one of his i ever liked - but his films generally hold up.

Nope. Everyone one of those movies suffers from that awful technique of showing the slow mo impact moment of each blow, several times over. Its cringeworthy. I told my 12 year old son to watch bloodsport, I then said awol is definitely worth a watch, but nostalgia yes, ageing well enough to appeal to new audiences, nope. Kids these days laugh at those movies. They were never meant to be funny.
