What movies have not aged well?

Nope. Everyone one of those movies suffers from that awful technique of showing the slow mo impact moment of each blow, several times over. Its cringeworthy. I told my 12 year old son to watch bloodsport, I then said awol is definitely worth a watch, but nostalgia yes, ageing well enough to appeal to new audiences, nope. Kids these days laugh at those movies. They were never meant to be funny.

You take childrens opinions seriously?

The jokes on you mate.

No offence pal, but your little spawn doesnt know shit about action cinema.

Do you ask him for financial advice too lol

For me it's Fifth Element. When I watched it first time I thought it was amazing and loved it for years.

But I saw it on TV few time in last couple of years and it looked so cheesy. In my mind it looked much better when I first saw it.

Didn't age well at all for me. It just looks so artifical for some reason.

I hope you haven't bothered rewatching Bruce Lee's fight scenes ...

Haha sure sure. When a kid points out how ridiculous certain things are, they won't change when they get into adulthood. And van damme stuff will have no rewatch factor at all. Only for nostalgia.

I gotta agree with the Matrix which was mentioned earlier, the CGI now during scenes where the screen is filled is very distracting.

Since I'm a fan of horror movies, Halloween H2O, that movie full on a product of it's time right down to the Creed music on the end credits.

yea Double Impact is still watachable
the chick in it was fine
I liked the scene where Cory Everson searches her
yum

No dude. It's dated.

are you saying it's dated because they didn't find each other on a dating app, both swipe right, meet up at Chipotle and insta-smash?

Nah I'm saying the music and dialogue and general direction of that scene are corny. Just my opinion, please don't get upset.

We were talking about this the other night while watching Home Alone. Woman gets into a van with a band for a road trip. Scary old man approaches a little boy (who had slept over with Michael Jackson) and sits with him in an empty church. Two men are after a boy. None of this bothered us when we first saw the film, but we all were uncomfortable this time. Times have changed.
Okay snow flake. Would you like some KY jelly?

Indeed, US martial arts cinema from that era generally I think suffers from poor direction/chorography, I don't see much reason to watch them rather than better Hong Kong cinema from that era.

Hard Target is really the only early Van Dam film which holds up especially well with John Woo behind the camera.

I actually think comic book movies have lost something compared to when they started becoming popular.
When they began, they tended to be set in a real world kind of environment, with normal people reacting to the appearance of these new superpowered people. Iron man was a grounded attempt at showing how a character like that would come to be, and his reasons for it. It wasn't completely ridiculous. And it worked great while getting new people onboard as fans. Now all we seem to get, are demigods throwing each other through walls, laser beams, aliens, floods and floods of cgi shite, lots of rah rah rah and stupid poses. Relentless crap jokes and seriously repetitive storylines. Adaptable characters whose strengths and weaknesses fluctuate to suit the script.5 ft 2" tall girls demanding to be as tough as their male Co stars, non stop political appeasing, and forcing in characters because its fashionable, not because its actually about diversity.
So yeah, I actually think some of those old gems have aged better than the crap they're currently pumping out. They never seemed to have all that shit.

Exactly.

I remember last year when i watched Black Panther (it sucked) and then watched X2 (haven't seen it in years before last year) and saw how much better movie X2 was, no contest. In reality, today comic book movies... can't get any cheesier than that.... can't get cheesier than MCU movies.

I have seen Heat one month ago. What hasn't aged well there? Very good movie.
