What is your general opinion on Johnny Hendricks ?

Good fighter with great power and wrestling but wirh questionable cardio anf very bad fight IQ, he kinda an idiot to be honest.

All yhe bad shit happened on his career he brought it to himself.

Like Weidman, a marked decline after USADA testing began. So despite some phenomenal showings, I think both are PED cheats. Johnny on the left was a wrecking machine - one of the best Welterweights ever. After USADA, on the right, Johnny was done.

I forgot how jacked he was in his prime. Physique is reminiscent of the legendary TRT Vitor.

One of those fighters that hard to rank because while he had a short prime, he was an absolute beast during that period of time.

now that we know how his career went, what is your general opinion on Hendricks ? We know that it’s was 50/50 against George , up to this day a lot of people think that Hendricks should had won. We also know that he finished is career terribly against an ex porn star in a bare knuckle fight. Overall , was winning against an all time great like gsp and ending is career badly like he did is kind of unique ?

I certainly didn't know he fought an ex porn star in bkb in his final fight. Can see now looking it up you are referring to Dakota Cochrane who I was not familiar with, 34-13 in MMA, 6-2 in bare knuckle boxing. Dude seems to have a legit record, seems like you're just trying to throw some slander around not mentioning his name and referring to him as an ex porn star.

As for Hendricks, it seems he deflated when the USADA era began, and was one of the most classic examples of dudes who fell off a cliff when heavy drug-testing began, who I'd also think of Vitor Belfort as in the same kind of category.

A great fighter for his time but an excuse maker and an obvious 'roid cheat.
Credit due where credit's due. He beat GSP. I don't want to believe that, or even say it out loud, because I don't like the guy. But after watching and re-watching the fight several times, it's pretty clear cut for me. That said, it was obvious to everyone at that time, and especially after, that the dude was heavily enhanced.
He had some serious scraps though, and beat THE guys at the time. I had him beating Lawler both times.
If it weren't for his personality, and all the BS I'd probably like the guy.

I have him winning the fight with gsp. He gets a lot of hate for steroids when he’s never tested positive once. I don’t rely care about him

Not really unique. Chris Weidman had a similar career around the same time. Upset a goat, then got a couple of good fights after. Ever since then, been a pretty rough decline.

Both of those guys at their peak are like all time great level or just a notch below, loaded with overall talent (even if it was enhanced at times, I'm sure they're not alone in that respect). But they had relatively short peaks and early declines.

Honestly that gay porn actor thing is so overblown, the dude is a 47-fight MMA veteran with wins over some decent names like Joe Stevenson, Jamie Warner and Efrain Escudero. Not a world beater but hardly a can in a bareknuckle boxing context

And regarding Hendricks he was a total beast for a while leading up to his title shot. Likely on the juice but at the time who wasn't? Had super close fights with both GSP and then later Lawler x2. Maybe his later career had gone differently had he gotten the nod the second time around.

I always thought it was funny how on sherdog you can accuse Hendricks of using PEDs without any repercussions despite him never popping for anything because Johnny is no one's favourite fighter. Definitely some huge double standards by the mods on here.

Hendricks was elite, champion level than fell of a cliff. Going to MW while being 5'9 was based purely on no discipline.

He's underrated today, sure he doesn't have the best record as champ, but was just one of those fighters that was happy to be champ and leave. He's like Reyes losing to Jones and then coming back to win the title. In his peak form, he would've been a problem for any of the WW goats.

Fighter that would shove his head between the legs of his opponent's if he thought he was winning the rounds/fight.

He was way too small for the division, hell now imagine todays...with the like of nassourdine imavov a 6"3

yes but Johny used to be the world champion...

Everyone figures he was on gear because of his sudden decline when USADA hit the scene, and his athletic peak was very short because of it . But in his moment at his peak he was crazy dangerous, a threat to any welterweight in history, it was fun watching him realize that he had super human punching power

He got close to a title but couldn’t close the deal. He did face the most depleted version of GSP. Lucky for him he was able to get a title. So overall. It was a good career
Your X-Mas av is hilarious and very disturbing at the same time lol.

Threw away the chance to get a Win vs GSP by slacking off the fifth.

And this:

So very questionable fight and food IQ is his biggest legacy.

He was entertaining both in win and loss in the UFC, tho.

He was punching them and they were flying near the end of the cage, crazy power.
