This. Straight trash matchmaking. Gives me time to watch other organizations I enjoy watching.I'll be paying less attention to the ufc for a bit. thats my initial reaction. It will give me some time for my other hobbies though, so thats cool.
Yeah, I was just thinking the same.I'll take those fights over 90% of the last year of ESPN+
John Pork about to get a title shot. Are they matchmaking mainly based off of IG follower counts or something?
Your argument is better leaving out Islam. Fought the reckoned P4P king twice and had late notice pull outs by other fighters that would change your stats.I was literally just saying to my wife that I may have to stop watching the UFC completely. Volk vs Lopes 2 makes no sense. Volk just beat Lopes decisively, has Movsar and Murphy as legit challengers. Why not just book Volk vs Logan Paul or Tyson Fury instead?
Arman is clear as day the #1 contender at LW. He weighed in as an official backup for the last title fight, beat Hooker since no one else at LW would fight him and stated he is 100% ready and willing to fight in Jan. So of course they book Gathje vs Paddy for an interim. Buys Ilia a year and if Arman doesn't fight in the meantime morons will cry Arman is inactive so he can't have a title shot.
Islam had 1 of his 4 title defenses against an actual top 5 ranked LW and now they want to give him the WW Stipe in Kamaru Usman???
I hope the next show the UFC creates is
"Where on Earth is Joe Silva"
The best fighters squaring off is a good thing. Making the best fights available is a reasonable alternative. Whichever you choose, there are times when you have subjective balancing choices (e.g., do you make two A+ fights and a C+ fight or three A- fights?). This matchmaking isn't doing any of these things. It's not clear whether the UFC is guessing at short-term casual fan interest for obscure reasons, whether Ali has incriminating photos of Dana, whether someone at Paramount who knows nothing about MMA is having too much influence on booking decisions, or whether something else is up, but something that shouldn't be influencing booking decisions definitely is.Why so? You don't have much interest in seeing the actual best fighters squaring off?
LFG!!!!!!Are they matchmaking mainly based off of IG follower counts or something?
Very amusing I can see this in the UK but not Dana's pink head.LFG!!!!!!

Don't want to sound dramatic but this feels like an all time low. They've always snuck in some bad ones but to do three terrible in a row to start off the new network, I've never been more disappointed about the direction of the company. Makes me wonder if Paramount executives are calling the shots it's so bad.Volk vs Lopes 2
Paddy vs Gaethje interim
And now rumored Islam for Usman for 326

Fucking dreadful, I like Lopes but he skipped over a guy who beat him twice now lolVolk vs Lopes 2
Paddy vs Gaethje interim
And now rumored Islam for Usman for 326
Seems that with the new paramount era - merit is now being thrown to the wayside completely.
Are you in favour of it? Against it? Discuss.
My personal opinion I think it's officially descended straight into boxing type BS now.
Or its a better argument if he or the UFC didn't make clear choices for his benefit.Your argument is better leaving out Islam. Fought the reckoned P4P king twice and had late notice pull outs by other fighters that would change your stats.
It’s a better argument if you just leave him out.
