Night time play has been wild. I'm getting fucked up by these volatiles

Yeah, I have it, but haven't completed it.

I'm high level with good weapons but even so, volatiles can really mess you up quickly. Jump one and you should be alright, but you're stuffed if more than one comes along.

Beat MGS Delta last night. Great game but trying to go for the plat kind of hurt the game for me which is rare. Going for a plat usually enhances the gameplay for me but not here. There was just to much shit to collect and there is one driving mission where you have to shoot these little dolls while driving. I have to do another run for the plat but I think I'm hopping off here.

Not sure where I go from here I really want to play Trails in the sky 1st chapter but that's going to take me like two months to play. I'm in no rush to make a decision so might just wait until the weekend and decide at that point.

This has been one of the most insane years in a long time in terms of quality games. Trails in the Sky sitting at 91. Other games reviewed this week include Hades II (94) Final Fantasy Tactics (87) and Silent Hill f (86). Ghost of Yotei reviews out tomorrow. If there were no games out on 2026 I’d still be busy with all the stuff I want to play this year. There’s also a number of indies I’m still interested in and they come out on October as well.

I think it started with the year Elden Ring came out but ever since then I just feel like I've been overwhelmed with games. I just played and beat Remnant 2 this year which I thought was fantastic. Still haven't played Stellar Blade, Rise of Ronin, R&C rift apart, Like a dragon 2, Shadow of the Erdtree etc. I could go on and on about the games I want to play. I honestly feel bad for a lot of these devs because I can guarantee games that are pretty good and even great are just going to be skipped over because no one has any time to play them.

Just finished the Trails in the Sky remake. Now that is how a remake/remaster/rewhatever should be done. What a great time. I am glad Falcom is having so much success with it, and the thought that I may get a new mainline Trails, and a rew Remake from the 2d ones each year is almost more than I can take.

game of the year for you?

I have played so few games this year I do not think anything I label with that will be fair. Clair Obscur is the overall best game of the year I have played, even if I did not love it like most, I can recognize that

Trails is the most fun I have had though. I look forward to replaying it again later to finish the plat (The final trophy requires you to beat the final boss with an option only available in NG+)

Nice I just started it last night. This game just reminds me of why I got into the Trails series even more when Cold Steel started. The switch from 2D to 3D just let the world and characters come a live in ways that 2D just can't do. Also really love the new engine they are using here the game looks fantastic.

Hades 2 released today! Time to grind the remaining achievements. It immediately gave me half of them for all I accomplished in Early Access lol

Never played early access. I have it on my Switch 2. Looking forward to it but I will try to finish silent hill f first. I’ve bought so many damn games this year….

I take it this means no ghost of Yotei for a while?

No. That's going to have to wait for a bit. Not even sure when at this point. By the time I finish this I know I wont want anything to do with story related games so it will probably be Silksong or Ender magnolia.

Been building a ridiculous corvette out of space garbage in NMS while I catch up on some podcasts. Sometimes a game with no spoken dialogue is the perfect thing.

I forgot to ask how many hours did it take you?

Like 30ish. These early games were a lot shorter.

I did everything but replay it on nightmare +50, which I'll do when SC comes put.

So like 30ish hours without much turbo will get the main game and side quests

Oh wow that's much shorter than I thought. I started on nightmare but if I have to replay nightmare +50 it makes me think I should restart the game on normal. I just got passed the first boss so barely did anything. This is different from the other titles which let you get everything on nightmare and then you just go back on easy to get the stuff you missed like maxing bonds.

You don't have to do +50 on nightmare, I just always do the game on normal first. And you need nightmare for an achievement.

The final achievement is beating a level 100 version of the final boss, which is done on the +50 option in New Game +

Just started on Robocop, great fun especially at the price you can get it nowadays when its on discount.
Online wise been going through Ready or Not and Helldivers 2, always go for co-op games over competitive ones.

Also 100% some other games recently which included:
Cyberpunk 2077
Heretic + Hexen
Postal: Brain Damaged
Far Cry 3
Halls of Torment

Elden Ring

Third time's a charm...hopefully. Game has tapped me out twice. I tried a no shield cool guy build. Wrecked. I tried sword and board. A little better, but still annoying enough that I just didn't have the patience for it. So I did something I've never done before in these games...I tried a m-m-Mage. I've never messed with any of this shit in the From games, because I just couldn't see sacrificing my health flasks for magic flasks, and it all seemed a bit overwhelming with all the powers you get, and the different strengths for those powers you have to upgrade. I've also heard that it puts these games on "easy" mode, and buddy, they weren't lying. I'm scorching through annoying mobs with ease. Oh', nice gank squad you got there...be a shame if my spell one hit every last one of you...you fucks.

It's a brand new game now. I am Gandalf. Name of the game is staying the fuck out of the pocket, avoiding the occasional distance closing attack, and just cheesing the shit out of fools at a distance, like I was born in the "Shrine of Amana". Oh', it feels so good just destroying those assholes on horseback. We ain't dancing anymore, dickheads. It's you vs my beam of death, and you lose.

I'm sure it'll get a lot tougher, but coming from my struggles in my first couple of attempts, this is so friggin' satisfying. I can actually grind a bit now. I do believe I will make it past the halfway point of the first castle this time, LOL.
