I'm liking this open world setup on bl4. Also like that you don't have to return to the quest to cash in on a side quest. The updated UI is nice too
How's performance been for you, bud? Hearing things all over the place on this.

It's fine on the series X. Most people bitching seem to be playing on PC.

Beat Shinobi: Art of Vengeance tonight.

I was a little sour grapes at first with this but came around and had a good time. Glad I bought it.

Some very tough ganks + platforming in optional rooms (violet corridors) and beautiful hand-drawn inspired graphics, coloring.

I appreciate how creative some stages are within confines of it being a sidescroller, too. I strung together a nasty-long combo on the (mostly) airborne final boss, which was a perfect send-off for me.

Beat Remnant 2 this weekend and it was great. I love how this series keeps it nice and short but has a ton to do post game if you want to keep playing. I never do it but it's nice to have the option.

Purchased MGS Delta and beat the first zone so far. Already hooked on this game. I've only ever played MGS1 and 2. I started 3 up but was burnt out after the first 2 and never even finished the first area. I can see some of the performance issues people are talking about but they are so small and trivial I don't even care.

I just downloaded it. Its stupidly difficult early on.
If you're playing solo, class matters. If there is a class with a support weapon, like turrets or whatever, choose them.

I've only gotten through the prologue/opening of DL the beast and I already like it more than DL2

Finished Cronos tonight. Great game but it was getting to feel a bit repetitive towards the end. A lot of the same enemies. I'd still recommend it to horror fans, biggest gripe is it feeling a bit generic. Story felt original though, would make for an awesome TV series of movie. Probably give a score of 8 or 8.5. I think Silent Hill f will be the better of the two, the setting appeals to me because we see it way less in the genre.

Anyway, to take a break between two major horror games I decided to buy Earthion which just came out on consoles Thursday. Crazy thing is this game was developed natively for Sega Genesis. That's right! A Genesis game in the year 2025, there's even a native version coming later. As soon as you load up the game you feel like you're back in the 90s. Yuzo Koshiro even did the score. It's a horizontal shoot 'em up. Seems to be quite difficult as is normal with these types of games but fortunately there's an easy mode. I've been playing on that and it feels fair. Normal is like hard in most games and then there's even harder difficulties after that. Probably never going to get the platinum but that's okay for me. I just wanted something fun to play over the weekend and this does the job.

If you grew up with Sega Genesis or enjoy shmups I highly recommend this one. It's a high quality game and only costs 19.99. Be warned though these games are very short. You can beat the whole game in like an hour. The purpose of these games is to beat your high score over and over.

Here's a trailer.

Trepang2

Amazing FPS. Love it so far even though it's pretty difficult and I die a lot and the levels are long and challenging the gameplay and music are top notch and keep you playing through it instead of rage quitting.
Never heard of it but looked up after you'd posted. You can akimbo ARs, it looks like? Awesome.
It's awesome. Total FEAR meets DOOM vibes. You guys should check out Selaco if you haven't yet.

Borderlands 4

Playing on steam and definitely can see where people are complaining about performance, especially during cut scenes. Haven't noticed it much during gameplay, but I'm only a few hours in. I turned my game off a few times during my morning session to play with the dog and make breakfast for the fam, so I had inadvertently done some of the performances fixes I've read about.

Performance issues aside, I'm not really feeling the open world layout. I think I might prefer the hub zones from previous entries. Then they threw in all of the open world map markers and tower unlocks that are standard fair for open world games that just not jiving with me in borderlands.

Tend to get burned out really fast with open world games that throw tons of map markers and collectables at you. We'll see how the rest of the game plays out, but may end up just doing the story and moving on.

Borderlands is much better playing co-op honestly.

Night time play has been wild. I'm getting fucked up by these volatiles

I'll also say I like everything on one map because all of those load screens before sucked

I'm feeling like this game is more coop oriented than the previous games. I don't really like it.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

Ahh', another game in my new favorite genre of rogue like auto-shooters, and this one might just be the best one, thanks to it's depth and variety of game modes. At its core, it's what you've come to expect in these games, where you're dropped in with a starting weapon, and slowly start building to what will hopefully turn out to be a complete death machine. That addictive loop is here, with a few new elements tossed. Given the nature of the franchise, you will need to mine for a few resources. Gold and this red shit, are your currency for buying upgrades on the fly, and there are other resources you will have to mine to buy permanent upgrades, and it all works seamlessly within the structure of game.

It does seem a bit slow going at first, and you will struggle a bit, because compared to similar games like "Brotato" and "Vampire Survivors", this game is friggin' HUGE, so early progression does come a bit slower, as you work on unlocking more and more of it's weapons and gear to make each run a little bit easier and giving yourself more options for optimal builds. It's also not a cheap looking game, like most of these types, where they count on the addictive loop to do the heavy lifting. These types of games work with very minimal effort put into the graphics. These guys went the extra mile in delivering a beautiful looking game.
