Finished up Astro Bot DLC and Lies of P Overture. Shadow Labyrinth releases on Friday so I’ll probably check that out. Will let you know my thoughts on it after I put a few hours in. Don’t expect it to get amazing review scores but I’m into the weirdness of that game. Already saw some cameos from other franchises and curious what else is in store.

Just finished Callisto Protocol

I decided to finally try it since I saw that it was leaving Game Pass and I'm glad I did. From the same creator of Dead Space (obviously). A lot of people found it underwhelming but I really enjoyed it. I liked the melee and weaving mechanics. It's kinda basic but fun enough to distinguish it from others. I hope we see a sequel that builds on this as there's a pretty good foundation here, but due to the poor sales that may not happen.

The graphics is gorgeous as well. I was surprised my outdated rig was still able to run it flawlessly without a hiccup. The facial animations are also super impressive. If you ever fantasize about being Josh Duhamel then this is the game for you.
Probably the most absurd backlash I’ve ever seen. The entire internet just shit on this game and it wasn’t even that bad. I actually quite enjoyed myself. I thought it was a 7.5 out of 10 type of game with a few frustrating parts like the enemies that kill you in one hit and sometimes you’re stuck in a small area. People really were like “hey this game isn’t dead space! 1/10”. They made an indie game too called [REDACTED] which is set in the Callisto universe but plays like Hades. It was a solid game. Shame they went under, guess sales were bad on both titles. Sometimes you can make a decent game and it’s just not enough. Feel bad for the devs, they definitely deserved a second chance. People wrongly assumed it would just be another dead space.

Beat KCD2 this weekend. Really enjoyed the game..

My main issues are. The second area's side quest just feel pointless honestly. They aren't as intertwined into the main quest as they are in the first area. There were several points that had massive difficulty spikes for no reason and I had to find ways to cheese it online.

The story was pretty good but I honestly preferred the first games story more. It had a decent ending but I'm kind of shocked at how little it gets talked about. The way people slam Mass Effect 3 for the choices and the overall way things end. I would expect this game to get it even worse but I never even saw people talk about it. To me the good\bad ending in this game is just pointless and means nothing to me. Maybe to the other people it would mean something. Hard to explain without spoiling.

With that said the immersion in this game is second to none. The stealth is so damn good in this one I damn near maxed out all my stealth\thievery skills in this game. I might go back to it and play more just for that because it's such a unique experience I'm in awe everytime the game loads up.
What’s next on your list? Death Stranding 2?

Knocked out Death Stranding 2 last weekend. I still go back to it since I got all my structures up so I just drive around delivering packages to chill and take a break from Metaphor which is my current game. Beat the first dungeon this weekend. This will probably take me a while to beat from what I hear.

I got about midway through Nioh 2 and it's easier than I expected now but it's also getting a bit repetitive and I think I'm going to drop it for now. Maybe I'll come back and beat it but no guarantees. I didn't realize how long Nioh was honestly. It's about double the time compared to other souls like games.

I'm obviously no pro but I've been trying to full combo various custom charts of the song "Thunderhorse" by Dethklok.
Here are a couple videos, though!

I probably died less than 10 times total on the medium difficulty. It felt fairly balanced as long as you made use of your abilities and surroundings, playing with headphones or a good sound system is kind of a must. Solid game though. Too bad about the studio.

I never heard of Redacted, but I loved Hades, I'll have to check that out.

I played some prelaunch build for Anthem – open beta, maybe – and the flying was really, really good. I know the game got ripped a new one but they nailed that aspect, IMHO.

The mission or objective design of the game is where everything felt like an afterthought. Maybe that’s all fleshed out now; don’t know.

Absolutely worth a romp for traversal if nothing else.

It's definitely not. It gets boring after about 3 or 4 hours. I've been having to play it every couple of days because the gameplay while exhilirating at times is dry and dull because of the wave based open combat area's, lack of a cover system and the loot sucks so the weapon variety is lame. The key saving grace is the 3 dimensional combat which is very rare in a 3rd person shooter and the special abilities and 4 different Java's keep it fresh enough to finish. But I can see why a lot of people check out once they finish the game and try all the Java's out.

Also, most of the main characters in the main hub city of Tarsis are cringe.

Faye is alright I guess but the rest are annoying twats.

Yeah, I mean Fallout 76 isn't really a top Fallout game on its own, but it's become quite a good multiplayer romp. Putting it on Game Pass really helped it too.

I think Cyberpunk was the most infamous, but it also had a really good redemption arc. Even before I got my refund soon after it first released, I saw glimpses of greatness in the game. Now I'll recommend it to anyone.

I may be wrong, but Anthem came out whilst Bioware was doing a downhill skid. I also vaguely remember reports of the game bricking consoles when it first came out. I never played it though, and people on here seemed to have liked it.

I'll give a shout-out to Fable as well. A lot of broken promises gave it a negative vibe, but I still really liked the game when it was you get. It was very whimsical, pleasant and charming.

Microsoft Flight Simulator, on a personal level, was unplayable. I think it was more of a niche game though.

I'd like that, but I'm going to bed soon...
Bioware has been on a downhill spiral since Dragon Age 2 dude.

Ya Inquistion "won" GOTY in 2014 but it was pretty bad IMHO. Then we had the shit list of Andromeda, Anthem and now the biggest shitshow yet with Dreadwo... I mean The Veilguard.

Mass Effect 5 was announced years ago and at this rate GTA VI and Elder Scrolls 6 will be out before ME5 if it ever comes. Too keep the memes alive even Half Life 3 (not including the VR one) will be out before ME5.

I have just finished Lies of P: Overture, and it kicked my ass so many times lmao. Even the non-boss enemies took large chunks of my health away at 35 vigor. I am running a technique/Dragon swords build, and it's so much fun. Lies of P is such a great game.

Returnal is next. Let's see how much better it looks on my PS5 pro.

Yeah, I remember reading about it all as I lived in my old bedsit.

I don't expect much from ME5. It's a shame. I was a fan of Jade Empire and the first two Mass Effects.

Long day at work for me today. I'm telling you guys that I'm hopping in the shower, making a cappuccino or something nice to drink, and gaming the evening away. FTW. Journeys await.

Still working my way through Death Stranding but keep eyeing Diablo IV, which I've got installed, and want to fire up pretty badly. I've a rule where I can't do that until I finish or quit current journey (DS) so isn't that some bull.

Been getting heavily into Toaplan games lately. I'm currently playing Vimana. Love me some "Hyper Violence Shooting!".

The hype for that game was huge. They did an audiobook prequel short story (I guess you'd call it) before the game released that was really well done and a great idea I thought. I recommend checking it out if you can still find it. Game wasn't bad but it had almost no chance to live up to the hype. It was pretty short iirc which was my biggest issue at the time.

AC Valhalla

Gave it a long break after around 70 hours, as it was burning me out. Picked it back up, and it was fun again...for a while. I'm now at 100 hours with no end in sight. I respect the effort and the content on offer, but it is a bit much. I don't know what separates it from other long ass open world games, as everything on offer is good. There's just something about it, that starts to wane on you a bit after a while. It's missing a certain something that keeps the experience fresh, unlike a "Witcher 3" or "RDR2". I'd like to say "difficulty", but those other games are easy as piss too.

That said, it is still really good, and I don't have many complaints outside of it not knowing when to end. If you want a game that you can play forever, and discover everything it has to offer, it's hard to beat. I'm at 100 hours and have completed maybe 40% of the side content, if that. It's gargantuan. To think that there are like 3 DLC campaigns to go with it. It's insane.

I think I must be close to something resembling an end game, and on that note, it's a solid 7/10.

Forbidden West 9.5/10

Wow, what a game. It took a few hours to get me hooked but once it did I couldn't put it down. The combat vs the giant robots is so damn fun and satisfying. The world is incredible too with the real life locations being an awesome touch. (One of them was a tad disappointing but that was mostly because a review i watched oversold it by a lot). I rarely get invested too deeply in a story, especially one this complex, but I found myself reading or listening to every audio file I could find. My only real gripe was it's a bit cutscene heavy and while you can skip them, you can only fast forward through a few of them.

I have a few more things to do in the world then I'm probably going to jump straight into the DLC as I hear it's pretty short.

Edit: almost bought the DLC for $20 a few days ago but held off. Was on sale today for $10.

I have like 200 hours into it because that's what I was playing during COVID lockdowns. At some point I thought "where is the end?" and looked it up. It was about 100 hours prior. It doesn't have any clear cut , credits rolling ending I don't think.

I haven't been playing much lately- weather is nice so I been outside a lot lately, cycling, hiking, etc.

I was interested in DK Bananza though- managed to score a Switch 2 today and the game...

No regrets. It's incredibly fun.

Not sure, but the way they handled the ending is terrible. It gives you all these revelations(and two of the worst boss fights in history), and then it appears to just kind of end on a "the story goes on..." note. You do the big fuck off end mission, and get back outside to the real world shit, and it seems like the ending, but I was also confused as to why there wasn't an actual "official" ending. I even went to Youtube to see what's up, and sure enough, a lot of streamers count that part as the ending.

I fucked around for a bit in the real world, and was about to call it, but then I decided to go back into the animus to see if it was just a way to let you clear up all the side shit, and sure enough, a new mission pops up that actually feels like the end mission in the Viking world, where all that shit you've been doing comes to a finale. It gives you no reason to think that there is anything more to do. If I hadn't just been curious myself(and confused and annoyed at the lack of some end credits), I wouldn't have bothered to see the Viking part of the game reach it's conclusion.

It's seriously one of the worst "end sequences" to any game I've ever played. It's so poorly directed. I don't know what the hell they were thinking.

Picked up Surroundead during the Steam sale. I've been having a BLAST with it. The zombies murked me six ways to Sunday, until I found I was playing on nightmare mode straight out of the gate.

This game was made by one developer, and I think that it's a sleeper hit. Been having loads of fun with it.
