Little Nightmares 2

The series has always been recommended, but I never really knew what it was as a game, so I never bothered. On GP now, so what the hell.

It's essentially "Limbo" or "Inside", with a slightly different feel to it, albeit, not that far removed. A little lighter on puzzles, and focused more on tense, stealthy "escape" scenarios, with very light puzzling. It's good. The art style is awesome, and it's always a treat to see the new fucked up set piece you have wander around in. The gameplay boils down to hiding and sneaking, with some basic "get that to do this" puzzling, and little else(at least so far). You run, you jump, you hit some levers and unlock doors n' shit, and hide and sneak in the shadows when a scenario requires it. It's all fine.

My only problem with it, are the animations. Everything is so damn slow, and you really have to adjust to accommodate it. It's not the snappy controls of the aforementioned games. It's a bit of an annoying struggle at times, simply because you want to go "there" and know how to do it, but the animations are keeping you "here" for longer than it should. It's also 2.5D, which can lead to some frustration as you try to get behind a certain object during a chase sequence, that's just a bit out of range on that plane. The deaths rarely feel fair, and is more of an issue with the overall design of the game and just not lining yourself up properly with it's fucked up field of vision. Thankfully, the checkpoints are plentiful, and it becomes a simple matter of trial and error, and making slight adjustments to your previous failure.

I don't think it meets the hype that I have been hearing, but it's still pretty good. 7/10. Might change if the games overall "story" sinks it's hooks into me.

Pretty sure everyone is ready for VI at this point. Everyone I used to play hardcore with left years back except for @Wrath of Foamy whom is a real one.

Problem is it's hard to find other decent open world co op games that aren't survival games or some rogue like shit or a live service game.

I just started up Anthem as EA is finally sun-setting the servers in Jan 2026..

Wanted to try it before it's gone for good.

Liking it so far only level 8, with a Ranger Javelin, but I can already see why everyone was complaining. The gameplay and aerial combat is like Mass Effect Andromeda supercharged.. so that part is great.

The enemy variety and loot suck though no unique weapons or components, so once I finish the campaign I am done. I thought Divisions loot was bad.

EA should've just made Anthem a single player game and stopped trying to be greedy like another Destiny, Division or Warframe clone they wanted Anthem to be so hard.

Same mate. It's just a shame that, despite the hundreds of titles on Xbox Game Pass and Store, that so few tend to seem to hit the mark.

Yeah, I need to try to find some time in the next few months to play Anthem before it’s too late. I didn’t realize that without the servers it would become completely unplayable. I have it in my PS5 library but I cannot remember how it got there. I hope that it was a free PS+ game of the month somewhere along the way but I’m worried that may not have been the case and that I may have paid for it, and if I did I hope it was on a steep sale like $20 or whatever.

Started playing Atomfall because free on gamepass. Pretty basic game, and for being another post apocalypse game, sure doesn't feel that way. It's fun enough though, and a good stop gap game.

Someone gifted me wrath of the righteous. I am getting a headache reading all this crap trying to spec a character. I just got a horse and I want to get rid of it. That thing is big and a pain in the ass.

Oblivion Remastered.

I never played through the original. When it came out, I wasn’t much into RPGs. And by the time I was, I had already played Skyrim, so the graphics in Oblivion were just too much of a step back for me to handle by the time I got to it.

So, perfect timing for them to remaster it. I’m loving it. Needs a larger map though.

I played some prelaunch build for Anthem – open beta, maybe – and the flying was really, really good. I know the game got ripped a new one but they nailed that aspect, IMHO.

The mission or objective design of the game is where everything felt like an afterthought. Maybe that’s all fleshed out now; don’t know.

Absolutely worth a romp for traversal if nothing else.

GTA 6 multiplayer gameplay leak confirms how many people we can play with https://share.google/zDqadZ2Jmy1JLmFoN

Damn 64 players per server .. possibly expanding that to 96

I doubt it. Anthem never really got a chance at a “redemption arc” compared to other games that launched in shitty states but in time were improved upon. I get the impression that EA simply doesn’t have the gumption to even try to improve upon games that have shitty launches, as Anthem was the second game in a row from BioWare that they just said “fuck it” to, as with Mass Effect Andromeda two years earlier they flat out canceled their planned DLC.

EA is shit.

Tony Hawk's Pro-Skater 3+4 Remastered

Holy crap do I ever suck at these games now. Can't get a feel for it at all. To think I used to be able to chain ridiculous combos together with grinds, reverts and manuals. I can barely get a half pipe combo going without face planting. Everything is so damn fast. I think "Skate" has ruined me for life with these games.

Outside of that, from what I can tell it's a solid remaster.

I was sick at 2 on the Dreamcast, but not so good at Underground.

Just finished Callisto Protocol

I decided to finally try it since I saw that it was leaving Game Pass and I'm glad I did. From the same creator of Dead Space (obviously). A lot of people found it underwhelming but I really enjoyed it. I liked the melee and weaving mechanics. It's kinda basic but fun enough to distinguish it from others. I hope we see a sequel that builds on this as there's a pretty good foundation here, but due to the poor sales that may not happen.

The graphics is gorgeous as well. I was surprised my outdated rig was still able to run it flawlessly without a hiccup. The facial animations are also super impressive. If you ever fantasize about being Josh Duhamel then this is the game for you.

Recently bought a PS5, the first PS I've owned since the 90s. I've already smashed through The Last of Us Part 1, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and now I've started Ghost of Tsushima, which is already quickly climbing the ladder of favorite games I've ever played. Once I get through Ghost of Tsushima and its sequel, will play all of those God of War games I've never played.

Make sure to check out Returnal at some point to.

I wonder what had the worse release, Cyberpunk, Fallout 76 or Anthem?

I don't think Cyberpunk would count because most of the issues were on the old systems PS4/Xbox One. I played it day 1 on PC and it ran great. 76 had issues but is supposed to be a good game now after so much content has been added. Anthem never recovered. They were supposed to have their "2.0" moment and then at the last minute EA pulled the plug on the whole thing.

Yeah, I mean Fallout 76 isn't really a top Fallout game on its own, but it's become quite a good multiplayer romp. Putting it on Game Pass really helped it too.

I think Cyberpunk was the most infamous, but it also had a really good redemption arc. Even before I got my refund soon after it first released, I saw glimpses of greatness in the game. Now I'll recommend it to anyone.

I may be wrong, but Anthem came out whilst Bioware was doing a downhill skid. I also vaguely remember reports of the game bricking consoles when it first came out. I never played it though, and people on here seemed to have liked it.

I'll give a shout-out to Fable as well. A lot of broken promises gave it a negative vibe, but I still really liked the game when it was you get. It was very whimsical, pleasant and charming.

Microsoft Flight Simulator, on a personal level, was unplayable. I think it was more of a niche game though.

That would be a fun thread with poll and case for each of the three.

I'd like that, but I'm going to bed soon...

There's a great story I read a while back where they were about to pull the plug on Fallout76 and at the last minute they asked Phil if they could put it on PS now and the game finally hit the targets MS was looking for after doing that.
