Lol all his wins including the one just prior were huge and a part of his legendary streak, but the second he loses, that particular fight doesn’t mean much anymore

We do know a few things:

-Fedor was hard to hit (was considered one of the most elusive fighter in 2009 per fightmetric). He stood with world class MMA strikers and was never outstruck or dropped from 2000-2010.
-DC isn't a great striker. He has KO power and good uppercuts though.
-Fedor had a great chin, as does DC.
-DC's gets caught A LOT by big punches to the head and body. He's been hurt and dropped several times. His striking defense is very sloppy and Fedor's offense was ruthless.
-Fedor seemed to have a much better gas tank.
-DC has better wrestling, however he tends to be careless about where he leaves his arms when on top (sub defense).
-Fedor was hard to keep down and GnP. Fedor would be going for sweeps and throwing armbars from bottom non stop. It takes about 2 seconds resting your arm in the wrong place before Fedor grabs it. See point above.
-Fedor had good upper body takedowns as well and world class GnP.

All in all, Fedor had a lot more tools at his disposal to beat Cormier than the other way around. Sure DC could have won, but given the skills they both displayed against multiple opponents, Fedor winning seems to be the more likely scenario.

When you love eating head and body kicks like they're Popeye's chicken wings, your chances vs. a 2005-2006 Crocop don't seem that good.

And Fedor simply had too many tools to beat DC.

As for a prime vs. prime fight vs. Fedor, his best bet would be a LnP decision win, but he's too sloppy on the ground as he leaves himself opened for subs. Catching Fedor on the feet was hard. He could land a bomb, but chances are he wouldn't (Fedor stood with guys like Crocop, Arlovski, Hunt). Cormier's poor striking defense wouldn't help him either.

Werdum lost and Overeem left. And why not talk about the man himself.
Fedor lost to the guy DC beat. And Fedor was only 32 years old.
And then DC won the whole thing at 30. And he's now the best HW in the world at 40.

It's all subjective and semantics. We disagree, no harm in that.

I think DC in his prime is better then Fedor in his.
 
Fedor left many big fights on the table.

Woulda fought DC had Bigfoot not violated him.

Done at 33 and after 6 years of full MMA.

I'll put Cormier on top once he beats Stipe again, Ngannou, Jon Jones. Goes down to 185 and beats Romero and Whittaker, and Israel.
 
it's a shame werdum got pushed to the sidelines just as DC was moving up - that would have been a hell of a matchup. would have been curious to see if DC had the balls to go the ground with him.

DC would have smashed Fedor at any point in there careers. He could take him down, he could roll him up, he could package him and have him shipped priority back to Russia.

I do love Fedor though

Dc has a way better chin .....Fedor getting fucked up by Fujita and wobbled by weak Cro- cop punches ......using old school Coleman as a reference isnt helping your cause much .....Fedor has a better HW resume due to longevity, but in a straight up fight ...Dc destroys him

Uhh..lol...Fujita hits harder than almost everyone DC has ever fought and lol @ the Mirko comment. Mirko has ko'd numerous fighters with punches. Guess all of them have no chin???

And Coleman used wrestling n GnP more effectively in his career than DC. Your argument is hugely flawed.
