It really depends on Volks abilities in 2025. He's coming off two KO's and is 36.

Looked slower and less present in his fight against Ilia, but that might be inference on my part.

If there was ever a time to fight Volk for a title it sure is now. Lopes is coming in with a good advantage.

Having said that, if good ol' Volk shows up - I honestly think he'll dominate Lopes in every position.

Lopes is dangerous sure, and exciting. But he isn’t very technical. Look at the looping punches he was swinging in the Ortega fight. Doing that against someone like Volk will not be a good idea

I think k this fight is 100% decided on how well Volk shows up.

Outside of a flash KO Volk of old would hypothetically make it look easy. As for now, it's a toss up.

If Evloev was offered the fight and declined, because of his religion, that is a completely different story.
I haven't heard that confirmed by anyone.

But a guy getting a title shot off of 2 straight KO losses, instead of an undefeated fighter who is 9-0 in the UFC... I'm sorry, but that's just wacky...
Not to mention the OTHER fighter getting a title shot has already lost to the aforementioned undefeated fighter...

However you look at it, Evloev is getting screwed, horribly.
