The funniest show I haven't seen. Every clip I watch from it gets some good laughs outta me.

People with bad taste get shit on relentlessly regardless of whether they deserve it or not. Look at how badly Twilight was maligned in our culture despite the fact that it was really just a series of books that was unapologetic in its catering to tween girls. The Ottoman claim to caliph is interesting. All Sunni scholars with any serious education knew it was a bunk claim. At the same time the Ottoman Sultan was clearly the most powerful Sunni leader, the head of the last powerful Islamic Empire, and the only thing in the way of European domination of the core Islamic lands. He might as well been the caliph.

It's really good, but it does take a bit to get into it's overall...vibe, I guess? It's a mix of deadpan and wacky absurdist humor. I didn't really "get it" at first either. Once you do though, it sinks it's hooks into you.
