From what I see the majority of the public is in favor of extending the ACA subsidies, so if the DEMs stay on the messaging they should have the upper hand. This is politics, though, so who knows what will happen by then.

If that's what you want, fair enough. But adding work requirements filters out hundreds of thousands of people who qualify but are otherwise deterred.

That's how welfare legislation works, you can't just filter out fraud or those don't qualify, it comes with taking out a lot of people who would actually benefit from the program.
