Wanderlei Silva gets lifetime ban

Jesus Christ, that's heavy duty. Good thing he's retired lol

Government officials are paid pretty handsomely too, only difference is you don't get to choose whether or not to pay for their service.

???

Wanderlei had a great career; making lots of money doing what he loved to do.

The nsac sucks, but i think you have the wrong idea about the socio-economic class of its commissioners.

I'm sure the commissioners on the Nevada State Athletic Commission are all receiving welfare checks and working 3 jobs to make ends meet

This is silly, lol.

It does seem apparent at that point that AC are just Muppets and one of Fertittas is Jim Henson at this point.

This lifeban bullshit is only because he retired and so UFC didn't pressure the AC..

Chael did much worse and got caught several times and didn't even get a lifetime ban.

Like I said, Had Wand been in title contention or had a big fight lined up, guarantee he wouldn't get a lifetime ban. Puppets! A bunch of Zuffa puppets.

Good riddance!

Lifetime ban is ridiculous, people trying to flex and look like they are cleaning up the sport. It's pretty fucking ridiculous to get a lifetime ban.

Not sure if it matters but don't agree with that at all, year or two max. A two year ban is enough to make people never want to dodge a test.

Forced retirements without a benefits package. Welcome to America.

Roidy McRoiderson got banned for life for a lifetime of Roids.

Whatever, his career was about done and he was one ugly knockout away from being forced into retirement anyway.

so beyond as a competitor, would it effect him not being able to get credentials to be in someones corner?

metamoris?

Excessive. I thought he hadn't even submitted an application to fight in the state of Nevada. If thats the case how can they even have any jurisdiction over him and require him to test?

This is crazy. He wasn't even licended to fight thru NSAC. How can you ban someone for not taking a test they're not obligated to take?

Am I missing something or is this shady as hell?

I don't think you know what "audacity" means. I think it's more likely he rolled the two into one, using the opportunity of a retirement speech to also slam the UFC and Dana for their treatment of fighters. I also think the UFC had a part to play in the NSAC's ruling, maybe because they didn't back Wand or give him the support he asked for. He probably felt betrayed and further thrown under the bus by the UFC after all he's done to help them be a successful company.

He used 'audacity' properly.

Whatever, his career was about done and he was one ugly knockout away from being forced into retirement anyway.

Not really. He was no longer in his prime for sure but he was 3-2 in his last 5 with Top 10 wins over Bisping and Stann

If he's not licenced can they still fine him, do they have the power to do that
