I'm not so sure. Umar went from not having fought a single top 15 guy to fighting Sandhagen. Figgy has looked much better at 135 than he did at 125.

Yeah, it makes more sense for him to fight figgy. I just think umar vs. Yan is the more competitive fight. I like figgy, but I don't think he has much for Umar and merab. He does deserve to try, though. Figgy's cardio worries me a lot.

if Umar fought again it would be Dec. Merab is probably gonna be booked for Jan or Feb so why wouldnt you just wait two more months? Not that UFC is gonna book him, he's gonna get next title shot early next year.

Yan v Umar is a great fight. Fig is no match up as hes to small n gets rag dolled either. Merabs beat everyone Umar makes sense for his first fight.


His mistake was being to dominant vs Omalley or he. Maybe could have squeezed a rematch in . Umar like bests merab and should fight him next . And I root agsinst all Dsgestani or Dagestani affiliated fighters al.ost always.

personally i think he should fight yan or henry. i’m okay with him fighting fig, but fig has already earned that shot imo, and someone has to fight rab.

on the other hand, if umar is just posturing, it means nothing. accepting a fight, then pulling out in hopes of getting a title shot anyway is lame. fighting the bantamweight equivalent of bobby green or al iaquinta is lame. beat yan or cejudo, then a title shot would be justified.
