Media Umar ain't beating Merab he can't even defend a takedown from a collage wrestler

It’s well known that the Dagestanis help collegiate wrestlers from Gilroy, USC, etc. and vice versa. You’re watching Khamzat sparring too much and think that these guys need to go 100% and win every minute. Everyone benefits here.

I don't care about the video but im picking Merab.

As promising as Umar is, I think it's a case of too much too soon. I really do believe getting fast tracked here will work against him. Experience is real and Merab has spent alot of time in the octagon.

Like when Mayweather took out Canelo before Canelo truly entered his prime.

Merab is good at spamming takedowns but he hasn't shown he can do anything with them. He doesn't have GnP nor much of a submission game.

He also hasn't shown how he reacts to people trying to take him down.

I think they will cancel each other's wrestling and this will end up being fought on the feet where Umar is far better, and unlike O'Malley he won't be worried about the takedowns.

Yeah I think Merab being dismissed. he's the old reliable. This is the new hottness, but people don't want to acknowledge merabs skillset. There are not many bantamweights in the history of the sport that match up favourably against merab IMO. How he can play the game he plays as long has he can is crazy.

But that is awesome if Marab wins, Umar is like 26 or something and already beat the number 3 guy so he has a "lifetime" to get it back. Why would anyone care that Marab fights an "undeserving" person unless they think he might not win? I agree its annoying when the UFC protect champions but in this case its more the fact that Merab has beaten most of the division and I think its going to be an amazing fight.

I'd like like to know how him and Aljo training sessions go. It would be a good insight into how he handles competent wrestler/grappler.

It would be interesting to know how he grapples his way out of bad positions and how he reacts when he's not the hammer

Gilroy was in highschool when Khabib and Islam wrestling him and Gilroy famously was like "they have 40lbs on me". Yet people labeled it "Dagestan vs US National champ wrestlers". There's a reason we don't see footage of them with guys like Jacobe Smith...they get taken down like everyone else.

Lol you’re so obsessed with hating on Khabib and Islam you don’t even realize that “Gilroy” isn’t a person, it’s the high school where DC coaches wrestling.

And Merab was getting subbed by cans in 2018 in actual professional fights not training drills

Dreadful thread

And 2 fights ago Umnar was getting clipped by an actual can making their UFC debut on short notice.

And Simon was 8-0 as an ammy and 11-1 as a pro and making his UFC debut in that fight against Merab. He wasn't a can.

Chase Saldate from Gilroy highschool

How is Bezkat a can?

He was 11-0 in pro exhibitions and 11-1 as a pro. With a higher level of competition than Simon.
