UFC losing its appeal?

I liked it better before the lightest weight divisions and women's division were added.

Seems much more watered down than before. Way too many "Champions".
Yeah, its a sport, i get it with WMMA, for the most part is an absolutely sub par product that is sold together with males MMA like they are the same thing, but more champions and lighter weight classes is what makes it a sport, this isnt a movie to declare the thoughest fighter out of a few, it isnt UFC 1 anymore, somewhat thank god MMA hasnt turned into boxing in a way they lost count of how many belts/champs they have...for a single division, if anything MMA could use a few more divisions/belts so you dont get the same guys fighting 3-4 times almost in a row...

I looked at the card and it just wasn't worth paying $80. And they just raised the PPV price not long ago before it went up again. I just can't keep up anymore. But I don't think the UFC is losing its appeal. People who pay for the PPVs like me just want to be more selective I guess as opposed to buying them often.

Nah. There's more MMA than ever and the athletes are as evolved as they've ever been, even down to regional shows. There's monsters on the mat everywhere, even ones that don't compete regularly. Things have changed.

If anything, I'd say individual card quality may be less and less valuable while fighting overall is better. Volumes are up, costs are up, and individual cards aren't as dense with stars.

Seems to be trending that way through.
We literally had two guys fighting each other for the fourth time.

Yes!
Which fighters am I supposed to get excited about? Where are the fighters like Chuck? Tito? Randy? Silva? GSP? Hughes?
There’s no one out there that I look forward to seeing fight.

Used to be I'd watch every single fight. Now I watch some fights. Didn't watch anything last nite beside Shogun, which made me sad. Even still I watched it in the background during the Eagles/Giants
***EDIT***
I know I'll get flamed for this but I did watch alot of Andrade mauling the absolute crap out of Lauren Murphy. I mean, totally whipping her. I do like watching Andrade.

UFC treating its fans like drug addicts confirmed.

Got them hooked on the good stuff, now just giving them bottom of the bag shake.

<{danayeah}>

You are absolutely right!
Although I get an ounce of shake and it's all dank, like the last 4 or 5 strains he had but for a ufc paper view card this has become the norm unfortunately.

"The quality of the product has also gone down hill."

Never stopped a drug addict sir lol.
Reminds me of that time, some 20 years ago, when I bought the worst weed I've ever smelled. Shit. Pure shit. Took effort, but I managed.

You watched wmma but not Burns vs Magny or either of the two title fights? Go watch ballet ffs.

Shogun last night was probably the last UFC fight I'll watch live. Fedor will probably be the last NA MMA fight. UFC or not, it's really hard to care anymore. In terms of the UFC, there's just an overwhelming amount of mediocrity and the organization is a hilarious mess. I'm sure they're doing fine revenue-wise and from a popularity standpoint though.

Yet, dwcs fighter just won the belt.

There are some great fighters that came out, but Dana filters some amazing fighters out, just because he doesn't like them.

If a guy wrestlefucks and wins an easy decision, he's earned his spot too, but Dana white prefers the ones that fight radically to win. It's watering down the actual best in what is supposed to be the premier league.

Imagine if Kamaru went on the series, there would be a good chance he never makes it to the ufc.

I really wish the UFC would have cross promotional fights like the one bellator and rizin did. Unfortunately I know that would make absolutely no practical business sense for them but still it'd be so sick to answer these questions and it would probably help the sport increase in overall skill

What kind of risk does the UFC have at this point? They are so far ahead with the ESPN contract after a decade of squashing the opposition by taking the best fighters and over saturating the market.

Superfights of its dominant champions vs. Bellator or PFL sounds a lot more interesting than recycling rank squatting contenders where its not about who is best but who is due for a title shot. There would have be a distribution/revenue sharing agreement between UFC/Bellator/PFL for the title fights. Let's say the UFC champ is paid 1 million but the Bellator champ is getting 500,000 for it and Bellator is paying the purse for the champ with a 10% cut of the PPV buys that is not a bad deal for UFC. Then Bellator can make a PPV card on Showtime with a dual UFC/Bellator champion.

This way a higher percentage of the UFC PPVs are super cards and not #2 vs. #7 for a vacated title.

I thought the card was good, Bonfim made their debut, robocop got One shotted.
Burns fight was a bit of a mismatch in the end and the co main ending like it did is a bummer but I saw some real got potential.

Isn't UFC dying for over 10 years now according to Sherdog? Lol

Nobody outside hardcores knows anything about the other promotions. It's just pointless for them.

Absolutely. The quality of the product has also gone downhill.

They no longer even openly try to put the best product out… they just sign regional level guys to not only fill prelims anymore but main cards now.

They have always tried to stack foreign cards with local talent. If I am not wrong alot of the local talent won last night
