Rumored UFC Heading To NETFLIX - Leaving ESPN

It’s pretty sad a brand like UFC can’t hold down a network deal for more than 4 years at a time:
Fox treated them like a red headed step child and ESPN has literally been operating at a financial loss the last few years. Just the nature of the business, networks are either in fear of overpaying or don't have as deep of pockets as they use too compared to these other alternatives like Netflix or Amazon.
The ESPN+ app is notoriously dogshit. But ESPN is THE place for sports. They might just be playing hardball to get a better deal when contract negotiations begin. As they should.
* Was the place for sports. They've been a reoccurring joke the last handful of years both financially, imagine wise, and content wise (I'm actually shocked how little quality live content is actually on ESPN+).

Love it or hate it?!

If all fights will now be on Netflix with no extra for PPV, let’s do it! I would love to enjoy all the big cards like the rest of the world where we don’t pay PPV for the fights, just the Netflix subscription

i hope this means the end of pay pig per views

... or will netflix announce it's new PPV "feature"

Netflix needs different tiers if UFC ends up going there. There should be a WWE only, UFC only tier for $5 a month. $10 for both of them.

I’ve never subscribed to Netflix
I don’t really want to start now

Anyone with a brain could see the UFC switching away from the PPV model eventually

Man, I fucking wish WEC was still around on versus. They really fucked up thinking they need one gigantic bloated entity. Different leagues under different names aren't a bad thing. And helps concentrate the elite of the elite under the flagship banner. Easily have as much, if not more, content as well.

You weren't around to see PRIDE, were you?

It was incredibly annoying to have the best fighters be spread out in separate organizations. We missed a lot of good match ups.

The best would be fighting on monthly UFC cards ideally. Think of it as a farm system. All owned by the same parent company. They wouldn't be competing and holding back fighters. I've been watching since having to rent VHS tapes from Hollywood Video brother.

It's also not necessarily all one deal. I mean, if it's a billion, it's probably an exclusive deal, but the UFC has talked about splitting the rights up.
