I think it's hilarious irony how complacent Leon can be despite being able to inflict so much damage in a couple of seconds. He went from being big brothere'd for 4 rounds to beating the absolute dog piss out of Belal who arguably got saved by the final bell. Truly bizarre style I'm not sure I've seen any other time, especially in WW or lower.

Belal basically pressured Leon the whole fight , not giving him room or time to get off his strikes and kicks . He had the better game plan and Leon fought like he always does .

Did you notice how Belal kept that right hand up to block the head kick that KO'd Usman ?
Idk why . Leon wasn't gonna be recharged enough to execute a move like that again til 2026

What i found surprising was how Belal was able to walk Leon down.

Thought Leon would use jab to keep distance, it seems he had nothing on the feet for Belal.

Leon has always had a tendancy to back straight up to the cage. Belal is really just the first to adeptly exploit it.

The real impressive thing about Belal is he was only a HS wrestler. Didn’t take up MMA till after college. And he somehow became world champion despite never being a notable athlete.

But personality wise and fight style I don’t see much in him

I have Nfi how you can say that tbh. Last round ko to win the belt and finished the final round on top with gnp. That is heart.
An example of no heart is Cerrone and many fights where things got tough.

And before you start saying I’m sad Edwards lost, I picked Belal to win.
He was losing the second Usman fight comfortably and showing absolutely no heart. He wasn't looking for the finish with urgency. He threw a headkick for the sake of a it and landed it. That was it.

Tonight he was losing the fight 4-1 and looked like he was taking a nap.
