When you get a southpaw/orthodox matchup, the person who gets their lead foot on the outside wins. Arnold did that relentlessly. When you step your lead foot on the outside of theirs, they can only circle into your power. It's not about "going backwards" like DC was saying, it's about not being able to step forward without getting clocked.
