Can you name some examples of Ubereem absorbing hard strikes on his chin? I can't. He mostly fought cans at that time (and Werdum and Lesnar), who weren't able to find his chin. DC is very durable and has never had any problems with closing the distance and landing punches on any of his opponents chins no matter how elite strikers they were. So the odds are DC would have landed plenty, and even if Overeem would have somehow survived he would have been likely gassed by the second round.

IIRC he took some solid shots during his k1 runs.

I just don’t see DC getting the better of Ubereem personally, but of course it’s possible. I think Ubereem was a different beast and would beat DC most of the time.

K1 Ubereem probably tunes every current UFC HW. Blaydes and Stipe give him the biggest challenge.

Are we all forgetting that Overeem's win vs Werdum was anything but a dominant decision but rather an absolute shitfest where Overeem at times was getting hit by Wedum who was at that time a very poor striker compared to later? Ubereem was definitely an amazing fighter but he could easily be put out by someone like JDS, Stipe or Ngannou even in that form.

@ImmigrantMentality Ngannou fought the weakest version of Overeem, but theres awlays a chance that Ubreem could lose vs JDS, Stipe Ngannou etc ... cuz 4 oz gloves = everyone is a potential KO Artist.

Current jds has no shot against ubereem. I think he'd be a really bad matchup for stipe or dc as well but you can't count them out. Ngannou is tough to deal with because of his power reach and awkward style but ubereem definitely had a better chin back in those days. Badr hari was the only guy to ever hurt him, none of the other k1 guys even had him in trouble and he fought some good kickboxers

You forgetting that Werdum intentionally sat down on the mat 3 or 4 times in that fight from the standup? Werdum never got much better with his hands, it was his kicks and knees that improved tremendously.

I agree, shit fight, but that was because Werdum was scared shitless.

Are we also forgetting that its difficult to look good against these bjj specialists who are afraid to engage. That fight was ugly but it wasn't even that close from what I remember I thought overeem won almost every round

Werdum outstruck him, landed the only TD, and had the only sub.attempt. Overeem has two wins over Werdum which both he arguably lost.

Everything but the UFC and Pride belts. He has achieved a ton of course and he’s held the Dream and Strikeforce belts and won a k1 tourney, but I’m sure he still wants the UFC belt. His chances of getting it are slim but he’s not that far away from a title fight tbh.

Being that post-roids and post-a shitload more brutal KO losses The Reem STILL managed to almost capture the HW title against Stipe when he dropped him, it is safe to say that he surely would've at least captured the HW belt for sure if he was in Uber Reem form.

He didn't really need to take any shots, he'd just clinch up and land a knee and guys were done.

Ubereem was startched by sergei, bigfoot and browne; hardly world beaters.

He got better when he lost some of the mass.

Sergei was before he was known as Ubereem and he was still in the 220-230ish range. Bigfoot and Browne fought deflatedreem.

Actually he never cut to 265 in the UFC or Bellator. Iirc 263 in the pic, with pants and shoes on. Thats the weigh in for the laser fight
He was supposedly above 265 during his monster K1 run.

He cut to make weight against Bigfoot Silva (weighed in at 264) which I believe he did to prove a point as it was his first fight back after being popped for elevated T/E ratio.
