International Trump: US will take over Gaza, resettle Palestinians

lol. giving people the option to move is not doing the opposite. it's actually giving them the choice. you're refusing to accept this simple point.

i am not even commenting on what trump is proposing, since it's not clear. i'm asking YOU again, would you want the CHOICE for your family, or do you want to be told youze can't leave....
It seems irrelevant at best, and disingenuous at worst, to ask someone if they’d want the basic human right to exercise free will to choose where they go to live, when these people haven’t had that and aren’t getting that with this proposal.

They aren’t Brian Ortega, they don’t have a choice. If that’s all this was, Netanyahu wouldn’t be using the military to do it.

No one is doing anything a the moment. They aren’t just evicting them with nowhere to go. It’s not even a shell of a plan yet.

And tell me what basic human right Hamas should have had that they didn’t? Not to suggest all gazans are Hamas. But let’s just start there.

Which as I pointed out is in bad faith and attempt to distract from a terrible idea. A prerequisite to offering people a choice is making it in good faith. Other wise you're just running a scam.
And if it was a good faith offer you’d agree it’s better to have a choice than not have a choice. For you and your families future.

I have a Palestinian on my team. I’m confident he’s happy at some point his family had a choice and took it.

Sure, hold a plebiscite if you want. But there's no point offering if it's not in good faith. You're just fucking over Gazans and US allies otherwise.

It's very clear the US and Israel are not approaching this in good faith since they blindsided allies.

Good thing they didn’t do anything yet.

No, I won’t start there because this is about the innocent Palestinian people living in Gaza. It’s good that you acknowledge that not all of them are Hamas—Hamas has maybe 20K fighters, there’s 2.1 million people in Gaza. Almost nobody there is Hamas, they’re innocent people.

They of course should have the choice to leave.
They should not be forced to leave, and if people like Trump and Netanyahu actually cared about rebuilding Gaza for the Palestinians—which they clearly don’t—then they would formulate a plan and they would even work with Hamas if possible to execute that plan before making the comments they made last night. And yes, I get that Hamas are terrorists but they are also the elected leadership—and so is Bibi Netanyahu for that matter.

Well without details there is no plan. There is no plan currently. It’s an idea.
Yes, and you present ideas privately first, particular controversial ones. Not just yeeting it out there and pissing off everyone.

You want that to be true, more than it is actually true.
No, I’d prefer the President of my country not want to engage in that.

It would be if it he was denied solely due to his race.
<LikeReally5>

You weren't and you never have been. Trump was elected, and it wasn't even close. The country spoke. I was hoping to see more introspection from you guys on why that is, but you stubbornly want to stick with the "racist, sexist, xenophobe" buzzwords you love. Can't help you there.
It was the 2nd closest election since 1968.
And i have been introspective, and I’m happy to share my conclusions with you.

In both 2008 and 2012, Obama won with larger popular vote margins and electoral vote margins than Trump just did. Did Republicans treat it as a mandate? Fuck no. They obstructed nonstop, shut down the entire government to avoid funding healthcare, refused to have hearings for any of our judicial nominees for years, stole a SCOTUS pick, and on and on.
—So why should we give you anything different?

In 2020, Trump lost by 7 million votes, far more than Kamala lost by in 2024.
Were you all very reflective? Did you change anything? Shit no, you doubled down on the exact same shit and same candidate even.
—Why shouldn’t we do anything but that to you?

Look, I’d love for everyone to move back towards the center, but you guys never did, and you won’t see me do that now either.
I’ll never support an unconstitutional, fascist agenda like Trump’s. And in the same way you voted for Reps and Senators to represent you, I voted for Dem Reps and Senators to represent me. And I expect them to not roll over, and to block every damn thing they can. That’s what I voted them there to do.

It's not, but I understand that you want your narrative to stand so you will claim it's ethnic cleansing no matter the facts.
It’s horrifying regardless of the name you choose to give it. You guys freak out any time we call Trump’s policies for what they are, and I get it. It’s hard to confront the fact that you’re supporting racism, sexism, cruelty, hate, and things like ethnic cleansing. Admission is the first step to recovery though.

Forgive me, I thought it would make sense to first find a new home for said population before asking then if they wanted to move to that new home.

Genius planning.

And lol at taking Trump or Bibi's word here that it's going to be voluntary if it goes down this path when they're still trying to strong arm other countries into participating in an idiotic plan.
Go or being shot the choice will be free

If you lived next to a state with “only” 20,000 armed murderous terrorists who govern and police the state with pretty strong support of the 2.1m citizens living there, would you feel like the 20k was an inconsequential amount? Oh, and the 20k want to murder you and your family and take over your state.

Would you be comfortable with the whole of the 2.1m having the basic human right to choose where they want to live knowing the 20k are sprinkled within them and that many of them share the views of the 20k?

And agree they shouldn’t be forced to leave Gaza. But Gaza does need to be rebuilt, this time without the tunnels and terrorist infrastructure. And they need to figure out the best way for the people to have some quality of life and safety while it’s being rebuilt. And maybe for some, that includes relocating.
