International Trump: US control of Greenland is absolute nescessity

U.S military presence since Cold War in Greenland always was ...due to location.
Sensors for SOSUS system to detect submarines and radars... airfields for refueling ...Greenland, Iceland...

While dreams about easy profit with mining industry?
Rumours that Greenland might have huge mining potential had been 30+ years long story.

Even if they are realistic, it will require a lot of specialists and a damn a lot of billions invested during long years...

Plus reality is that country does exists in order just to provide income for elite, however business is global..
Mining industry mainly is owned by oligarchs and investment funds etc.

So there you just need to negotiate with some from them and to get something. In silence...

Denmark cant sell it. Its not a car or a house.
Greenland is an autonomous part of Denmark, they have been able since 2009 IIRC to declare independence from Denmark but never have.

Secondly Trump has more or less already threaten with economical or military pressure. He did so in a speech a few hours ago it seems.

Ok I didn’t know that. But I don’t like us Bullying Greenland through military or Economic pressure, so hopefully that isn’t his plan. However if it’s a purchase both sides peacefully agree to why not?

Because as I said Denmark cannot sell Greenland, thats not how it works..
Something Trump maybe should have checked.

It would first need a vote from Greenland and then a vote in Denmark and it would still not be a sale it would be a "transfer of sovereignty".

He said at his presser today that he wants the people of Greenland to decide for themselves and supports their independence. Doesn’t know if Denmark even has a right to claim Greenland, and supports legal efforts to assist Greenland in attaining independence and deciding for themselves.

Continued that if Greenland wants it/independence and Denmark will not give it to them, then he would heavily tariff Denmark.

Also if he and you had any clue you would know Greenland has been able to go independent for many years..
All it takes is for Greenland to vote on it.

The first steps towards independence was taken in the 1970ties.
