Law Trump just pardoned 1.5k rioters and Proud Boys.....

It's funny how the party that says all cops are bastards, wanted them defunded, and bailed out/dropped charges against rioters during the summer of love are now clutching their pearls over mostly non-violent people receiving a pardon. Those that did assault officers served far more time than any of the summer of love rioters. The selective outrage is hilariously pathetic.

Who specifically was sentenced unfairly and is still serving their time when they shouldn’t be?

Theres been about what, 1200+ convictions? And about 1/3 were for anything violent. So, I'm fine with pardons for any of the 2/3rds that are convicted on stuff like trespassing, disrupting congress, etc.

None of those people were charged or sentenced unfairly to my knowledge. For what reason should they be pardoned? Whose sentences were excessive?

You're a black man in America yeah? You should well know of the justice systems tactics of over charging crimes to get defendants to cop to lesser charges. Many times regardless of guilt and evidence. Its a tactic well used on poors, minorities, etc.

It's amazing how many people are concerned about sentencing since Jan. 6th.

It's been awhile since I looked through them. But getting multiple years for trespassing is overdoing it. Even some of the violent convictions got blown up a bit, with people getting 10+ year, some without any priors.

Look, if you don't think any of these convictions were politically motivated, ok. We don't agree, but I think I get what your position is. My thinking is there's a mixed bag here, and I dont think blanket pardons or convictions is the best way to do it.

Multiple Police unions rescinded their endorsements of Trump? Which ones?

You may OK with someone throwing explosive devices at Police Officers, I am not. The fact other shit heads were pardoned does not make pardoning a guy who tries to beat up police any better.
There is a reason Police Unions are not happy with Trump and some have rescinded their endorsement because Trump pardoned guys who committed violence against the police.
The only reason I think you are doing the whataboutism is because you hate police officers.

I'd say the pardoning of literal traitors is a bit more pathetic. And the kids that clap because daddy told them to.

But by all mean, lets have you prove you aren't just making this shit up as you go along: One of the rioters tased a cop in the neck while his buddy helped hold him down. Find me an example of that happening on the Floyd riots and we'll know you are just bullshitting your way through the stages of denial.

Now we can all sit back and watch you fail to deliver.

Well, 130 officers got injured during one day of riots in Chicago alone. Is that as bad as one being tazed?

I somehow missed this post until now.

No, this is simple cause and effect. These pardons didn’t happen in a vacuum, they are a reaction to Trump’s baseless threats.
—There’s no evidence that Milley did anything wrong, but Trump has hinted that he deserves death.
—There’s no evidence that Liz Cheney did anything wrong, but Trump has hinted at putting her through a military tribunal.

Being ok with this is cult member logic. Trump supporters are basically the the people in Stanley Milgram’s famous shock experiment, who would brutalize innocent people just because some authority figure said they should. They are like the guards in the Stanford Prison Experiment except even worse, because they intentionally desire power for the express purpose of hurting others.

You all excused a literal coup but think I should be upset about how a POTUS issues a pardon?
As long as you keep targeting innocent people, we’ll keep trying to defend them with whatever means we need to, and I won’t be feeling bad about that shit one little bit.
Cause and effect

Where the effect comes before the cause

"Everyone on my team is pardoned for everything they may ever do preemptively"

Havent read thread. Let me guess the entire thing is full of people justyfying something bad by accusing others of also doing something bad.

And plenty of hypocrisy of "no your side can't do that thing or they are 'hyperbolic insult', but of course my team can do it no problem"

You are being reasonable whilst the other guy is one of the worst hypocrites and extremist nutcases on this thread

I don’t really agree with the term “blanket convictions.” Each case was individually charged and tried, which doesn’t seem to be how these pardons were evaluated.

Here is what I’m getting at: there’s quite a few posters ITT talking about out people being imprisoned for years for trespassing, but no one can actually mention a case where that’s happened. If there truly was a an excessive sentence or miscarriage of justice like that, I’m quite open to correcting it. But I don’t really know of any cases like that. For example, both NPR and Wiki have databases of all these cases that are easy to read. Links here:

EDIT: NPR source linked wonky, I’ll link it here.

Just taking these in order, let’s look at those who were found guilty of nothing but parading in a restricted area:
  • Dawn Bancroft. Threatened to shoot Pelosi on video, but no real evidence she planned to, so all charges dismissed except for parading in a restricted area. She got 60 days, plus 3 years probation.
  • Next one is Richard Franklin Barnard III. He got no jail at all; 12 months' probation, 30 days of home confinement, 60 hours of community service, and $500 restitution.
  • Kevin Sam Blakey, 120 days in jail, 18 months' probation, and $500 in restitution.
  • Terry Lee Brown, no jail at all; Sentenced to 30 days of home detention and three years of probation.
  • Boyd Allen Camper, sentenced to 60 days in jail and $500 restitution.
You get the point. What I see is people excusing all of these pardons on the basis that there supposedly are trespassers thrown in prison for years, and I don’t think it’s unseasonable to want to know who we’re talking about specifically.

Because I’m asking you guys for facts to support your argument? Thousands of people were just pardoned on the basis that mere trespassers were supposedly cruelly thrown in prison for years at a time to rot, and I’d very much like to know who these people are.
I’ve twice posted databases of the cases, charges, and convictions ITT.

How many J6 cases are we really thinking were a miscarriage of Justice, and which cases are they?

Concession accepted.
If not reading a post is a concession, you conceded to me a long time ago:

Didn't read beyond here.
Concession accepted, I guess.

Trump’s threats are the cause, Biden’s pardons are the result.
Biden did not pardon these people for anything they might do in the future, as you said. I understand that the media’s use of the word “pre-emptive” can be confusing, but that is not what is meant by that. The pardons encompass time periods and activities in the past.

You ask what supposed crimes or offenses they were pardoned for? Well, Trump has claimed that Milley’s actions are worthy of a death sentence, and Cheney should face a tribunal—but Trump never really says what they supposedly did. Whatever he planned to charge them with, you can pretend they are pardoned for that if you like.

Do the homework and give me an actual case.

But if I had to guess, I'd say since you're already omitting context about how your heroes at the capital were trying to overturn an election as they held that officer down and beat the shit out of him, probably not.

The bottom line is that almost every one of your champions with pro-Aushwitz shirts were sentenced under federal guidelines. Meaning, the judges didn't have discretion. It was an automatic, you did Y, you get sentenced to X. Comparing that to some random dude in a random state, where you don't even narrow it down to an individual or a list of offenses, is not just stupid, it shows you aren't being serious. And of course there is the additional fact that none of the cases you so vaguely mention involve anyone charged with seditious conspiracy.

At the end of the day, some of us were taught that two wrongs don't make a right. Thought everyone got that one, but I guess all the trumpers had neglectful parents. So no, your attempts to absolve all traitors has failed. Although your aggressive deepthroating of them has been noted.

BLM literally locked the doors to a police precinct and tried to burn it down with police officers inside during the "racial reckoning" the left supported. Nobody cares about them pretending to be horrified at cops being assaulted.

nah, the funny part is right wingers still not managing to get liberals, leftis, democrats and others from their mouths even tho republicans own the presidency, congress and senate.
can we now focus on all the dumb shit republicans are doing while in power, and are about to do?
