Elections Trump Indicted On 91 Counts

This is a brilliant legal move. If the SCOTUS rules Presidents are forever immune to prosecution, no reason for the current administration to ever relinquish power.

Make the throne hereditary. Emperor Hunter will lead us into a new Pax Romana.
Kidding aside, they really can’t be partisan on this one. Smart move by Jackie boy.

as per tim pool, president has immunity from actions done as president (presidential duties, you chuds, you can't shoot random people), and if you want to charge him you have to impeach and convict first before filing any criminal charges, otherwise EVERY chud state prosecutor will charge any president for any reason any time they want.

see how dumb this is?

Ah yes, noted legal scholar, Tim Pool.

Why did Nixon get immunity if it wasn’t needed?

it makes sense.

you wanna criminally charge a pres, impeach and convict first, otherwise every yahoo AG can file charges whenever they want. am i wrong? there's a process and the senate voted not to convict orangeman.

If they rule a President has complete immunity for any action taken while he's president, then Biden should round Trump up, send him to Gitmo, and throw away the key.

It's not illegal, because he can do whatever he wants!

<seedat>

Yeah, I'm going to doubt that SCOTUS will even take the case up.

So we're just inventing "rules" that suit our aims? Wtf does congressional impeachment have to do with subsequently charged criminal proceedings?

But he is a former president. Can you impeach a former president? I’m seriously asking.

to hell with this level-headed realist and whatever logical explanation he has to say. i wanna hear what tim pool, alex jones, catturd, dc_draino, and super duper ultra maga johnny on twitter have to say about this. i'm sure they'll give it to me straight and tell me what to hear without all the bullshit that i don't want to hear.

Also remember that a number of Republicans acquitted Trump not because they claimed he was innocent, but because they claimed a criminal court was the proper place for the matter.

Of course you can't impeach someone from an office they no longer hold
One of the most grating things about chuds like our Nintendo friend is that they think they are so clever in trying to find some sort of loophole that nobody else sees or understands. So fucking stupid, yet still intellectually arrogant enough to think they are fooling us all with their disingenuous attempts at pretending to argue in good faith.

If I remember correctly, many of them just said "so what?" followed by "who cares" while tacitly admitting he did what he was accused of...then they voted to acquit him.

I don’t see the point. If the scotus says he is protected, will they just drop the charges? Is he banking on them saying he isn’t protected, so he can’t take it to the scotus after?
Well, yes.

The thing is, that they want to keep the March trial on track, and each appeal takes time, but Donny want's to spread things out as long as possible. ie) After the state supreme court decides, or punts it, it's a given that it'll get appealed to to the Federal Supreme court.... Jack smith is just trying to prevent the delay defense.

So, Smith simultaneously asked Scotus to expedite, as well as the state appeal panel to expedite so that the ball keeps rolling and team tiny-D has to face the music positive or negative prior to the election in 2024.

State supreme's agreed, as did Scotus (almost instantaneously)...

HOWEVER, Scotus just agreed to view filings on an expedited basis, not hear actual arguments. So, they will hear petitions from both sides to decide whether or not the Supreme Federal court should hear the appeal..but tbf, brilliant for Jack Smith to do it this way, because Scotus was inevitable, and with the overarching goal of having the trial start in March he has to think about what roadblocks the defense will try to put up next, and these interlocutory appeals usually have the effect of staying proceedings...exactly what Trump is hoping for.

Contrast Judge Chutkan with Judge Aileen Canon... what a fucking joke that bitch is. The FL case could have been over by now. It's a pretty simple undertaking...but when Judge want's to delay things as much as possible they have a lot of ability to drag their feet. She wants to run the clock so that the case doesn't get heard until after the election, yet she has the easiest case of the bunch, it's open and shut. Absolute joke of a federal "Judge".

Like... it's in the fucking name, princess, you are supposed to "Judge", not just collect a cheque.

She has a history of being useless, though, so she honestly should have never been given a case this important. But, "Random" assignment is how it works.
