Seriously, don't you guys have laws in place to prevent such blatant bribery?

Even here in Brazil shit like this is prohibited, people in public offices are forbidden from keeping "gifts" above $50. Any valuable gifts given to the head of State are automatically transferred to government possession.

Former president Bolsonaro will probably go to jail for keeping jewelry and watches given to him under the table by Saudi Arabia (among other crimes).

I'm still wondering what the line is for the rubes when it comes to foreign sollicitation. I guess a brand new 400 million dollar Boeng 747 from a government known to support terrorist organizations does not cross that line; the line of ethics and the line of national security compromise.
