Top 5 Most Boring UFC Main Event Fights....EVER.....

Mir- CroCop I was at the event live and that fight will forever be etched in my head as complete **** Was so excited to see CroCop in person and then when Big Nog pulled out I thought Mir was a suitable replacement and then they began to "engage"
Man was that awful!

People complaining about Mir Cro cop? That fight was boring, but only went 2 and a half rounds. The top boring fights ever has plenty of five round nominees (Severn shamrock went even longer.

Hell gonzaga Jordan was identical to Mir Cro cop, a boring fight with an epic ko out of nowhere.

GSP vs Kos I
GSP vs Fitch
GSP vs Hardy
GSP vs Shields
GSP vs BJ II
GSP vs Kos II
GSP vs Alves
Condit vs Diaz

...just off the top of my head.

Anderson Silva vs Damien Maia is a freaking awesome fight. It gets way too much hate. There was a lot of crazy stuff in that fight, and I love watching it over again. I have never understood all the hate it got. Maia shows a lot of heart, Anderson bein crazy. Fun fight to watch. Definitely not boring.

Anyone that didnt put Shamrock vs Severn 2 at #1 havent seen this fight, period.

These are the fights that made you wish you had that $49.99 back for spending cash, or almost made you swear you'll never watch an MMA fight again. Feel free to chime in with your opinion, or add your own to the list:

#5 GSP vs. Jake Shields @ UFC 129: A bout defined by both fighters content with trading jabs the whole night, with neither fighter really taking any chances. It was like both fighters were playing it safe, hoping to squeak out a decision.

#4 Anderson Silva vs Damien Maia @ UFC 112: Well the first round with pretty entertaining, then the fight took a turn for the worst as Anderson danced around the octogon, with occasionally smacking the surface a few times trying to get Maia to engage, then avoiding any punches Maia threw. This fight was supposed to be capped with GSP entering the octogon to promote a mega fight, that is still on hold. Dana got so upset, that he walked out in the 3rd round if I remember correctly.

#3 Anderson Silva vs Thailes Leitas @ UFC 97: This bout featured a challenger who would rather jump to his back, then engage with the spider. Anderson tried to make a fight of it, but his opponent often fell to his back after taking a few punches, hoping to lure Anderson into a submission attempt. Never really saw Leitas in the UFC much after this.

#2 Tim Sylvia vs Andre Arlovski 3 @ UFC 61: This whole PPV was a disappointment. Not only was there a controversial stoppage in the Tito Ortiz vs. Shamrock 2 fight, but this main event bout put most fans to sleep. We expected an all out war, after AA took the first fight via submission, the Big Tim came back in the 2nd fight from a near defeat, to catch AA and finish him off. What we got? 5 rounds of AA dancing with the occasional jab, with Big Tim content to trade back. Neither fighter attempted a take down, let alone a clinch. This fight looked like 2 "Rock em Sock" Robots with less action.

#1 Ken Shamrock vs Dan Severn 2 @ UFC 9: The fight that almost killed MMA as a mainstream sport all together. After an apparent warning from the Michigan Fight Commission or who ever, Ken Shamrock resulting to not throwing punches, but open hand slaps, in an effort to avoid the shedding of blood and "too much violence." this was a fight that would make 90% of MMA fans throw-up. Defined by "lay n pray" and constant clinching, this fight is easily number 1 on the list.

What are your thoughts??

I hope The Detroit Dance stays #1 forever If I remember correctly it was 33 Minutes before they touched

Phil Davis vs. Antonio Nogueira was a fuckin snoozefest

Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis was also incredibly boring

GSP vs Kos I
GSP vs Fitch
GSP vs Hardy
GSP vs Shields
GSP vs BJ II
GSP vs Kos II
GSP vs Alves
Condit vs Diaz

...just off the top of my head.

totally agree!we got the winner!

/thread

Bonnar vs. Prokajac TUF 12 Finale. It wasn't that bad because Bonnar was actually very active it was just not the usual reckless abandon style we see from him

Dan Severn vs Royce was a snoozer royale...

Ha ha yeah the guy I watched aa vs Sylvia 3 did fall asleep. Still pretty sure aa hurt his leg with a leg kick because he was throwing them until one made a weird sound and it was the last one he threw that fight.

No mention of Rampage vs Rashad in the OP is shocking.

completely disagree w/ GSP v. Shields...not saying that was a great fight but i can think of a dozen far more boring main events...as a matter of fact i can think of other GSP main events that were more boring...think GSP v. Hardy prob. tops GSP v. Shields...Silva v. Maia wasnt so much boring as it was utterly bizarre...started off good then went into a weird place the last few rounds...how the hell isnt Mir v. Cro Cop not on that list? Guida v. Maynard?

Mir/Cro Cop was more saddening than anything else. I thought that was going to be a good fight, not the horrid shit it turned out to be.

Also, I know this isn't in the UFC, but Overeem-Werdum 2 was a snoozefest.

I don't think Guida/Maynard or Anderson/Maia was as boring as people think. Guida/Maynard had that one badass moment where Maynard just stuck his chin out and took some shots and then almost got the guillotine. Andy/Maia was weird but Anderson did some cool stuff. Definitely not favorites of mine but I wouldn't put them as the most boring fights ever.

DanSevern/KenShamrock has to be #1. Some Jon Fitch/Okami/Shields fights were pretty bad as well.

UFC 119 - Mir vs. Cro Cop

May not have been as boring as some per-say, but it was a big let down IMO.

Easily the winner.

TS said silva v Maia. I disagree. One of my fav fights to rewatch based on Maia's fear alone.

Any main event fight, these just happened to be title fights, but in any event, I'd throw in Nate Marquart vs Ivan Salavery on a UFC Fight Night on Spike as well....

Yeah this and the two mentioned above were more boring then GSP-Shields.

Now it just seems like people are naming fights that they didn't like and were barely boring. We are talking about the TOP 5 boring fights in all of UFC's history here...and somebody said Diaz/Condit? I get it wasn't the dogfight we wanted but really?

Andy/Leites for me. Both were tentative to make the fight exciting
