That's not what this is about lolexplain.
Every fighter I ranked beats the fighters below them prime for prime imo.

Lol then why does TS have Nog #4 and Cro Cop #5?That's not what this is about lol
Like I always say, there are no Unified Rules for GOAT ranking. It’s your list and your criteria. If the criteria is just who you imagine would win certain fantasy fights, it’s hard to be wrong then, I guess.explain.

I dunno?Lol then why does TS have Nog #4 and Cro Cop #5?
How do you have Cro Cop over Frank Mir?1. Fedor- I don't know how can anyone vote anyone else in this spot.
2. Big Nog- would be GOAT if not for Fedor.
3. Stipe- Please stop talking about most title defenses when the number is 3... that's just pitiful.
4. Werdum- for his amazing late run.
5. Cain- Mostly by "could have been" rather than did it. Health and multiple rematches kind of didn't do him favors.
6. Cro Cop- Had a bad UFC run, but can't deny him being #3 under the top 2 guys in my list.
7. Ngannou- Again, more due to perceived possibility than actual deeds.
8. Arlovski - at one point was the #2 HW behind Fedor...
9, JDS- Pre-Cain....
10. Overeem... horsemeat!
And it's your fantasy to decide who's had the most impressive resume even though guys fought different opponents and in different promotions, and in different eras. Hard to be wrong, I guess.Like I always say, there are no Unified Rules for GOAT ranking. It’s your list and your criteria. Join date checks out.Ngannou, JDS, Cain, Stipe, DC
Those guys would destroy Prime Fedor
I don't know why you picked specifically Mir (and shame on me for forgetting him).... but he'd be below CroCop...How do you have Cro Cop over Frank Mir?
I'm looking at Crop Cop at his entire career, not just cherry picking from when he was young and beating up cans. He has an awesome highlight reel, but against top competition he's maybe like a .500 fighter? I'd have to go over his record again.I don't know why you picked specifically Mir (and shame on my for forgetting him).... but he'd be below CroCop...
And the reasoning is simple... You are looking at UFC Cro Cop... he was far more than that.
nah.I'm looking at Crop Cop at his entire career, not just cherry picking from when he was young and beating up cans. He has an awesome highlight reel, but against top competition he's maybe like a .500 fighter? I'd have to go over his record again.
And it's not like Mir was in his prime either when they fought and he knocked Crop Cop the fuck out.
There's this weird feeling on this forum that winning a fight in Japan counts as winning like 3 fights somewhere else, and it's just bullshit.
In like every thread not involving Khazmat or Conor, I see people talking about how Fedor, Wanderlei, Shogun, Big Now, Rampage, Cro Cop are the greatest fighters of all time, but also no one is allowed to talk about before Pride (for example, Wanderlei vs Vitor or Tito), or after Pride (example, Crop Cop vs Gonzaga or Mir). People are actively building this fantasy narrative about how great Pride was by pretending that fighters' careers didn't exist before or after Pride. That's the bullshit I'm talking about.nah.
Again, when he fought in the UFC, he was not at his best form by his own admission (and frustration).
and it's about time people stop with this BS that just because some fights were in Japan, it has to be discounted as against cans or somehow devalued.
If you think a victory in the UFC is worth more, you obviously don't know how to judge impartially (not saying you, but it is fairly common see people demeaning victories in Pride while over-valuing UFC).
yes, but it is stupid to claim he was not good because of those fights. Like it or not, Fedor is the same person who had GOAT fights with Big Nog and Crop and then later got the shit beat out of him by Bader and Mitrione. And that's ok. No reason to deny it. But yeah, those fights go on his record too.
Mir over Big Nog?? He's got the wins over him, but that doens't carry enough weight overall. I don't think Mir is top 10, Big Nog top 3-4
Mir’s interim title win over Nog was good, definitely. If he had defended that a couple of times it would’ve gone a long way. But he lost it immediately.
Sylvia conversely (whom Mir beat, I am aware) is a 2x champ. Beat Ricco but was stripped after his first defense due to PEDs.
Later, he became champ again by beating Arlovski, then defenses 2x against Arlovski again, and Monson.
So in terms of titles and defenses, Sylvia edges out Mir. The question is, as you said, overall resume:
MIR: Sylvia, Brock, Nog x 2, Mirko, Nelson x2, Bigfoot, Duffee, plus dudes like Tank, Petey Williams, etc
SYLVIA: Rothwell, Ricco, Arlovski x2, Monson, Vera, plus guys like Buentello, Kraniotakes, Assuerio Silva, etc.
Hmm…I think you’re right. Mir should be higher than Sylvia. His overall body of work is superior, although his title runs aren’t.
Fedor, Overeem, cro cop, big nog, werdum, Cain, JDS, Randy, DC, BarnettCurious about your orders
1. Stipe- Most title defenses, two time champ, beat the best opposition
2. Fedor- Undefeated for almost a decade, against the top heavies at the time
3. Cain- two time champ, utterly mauled everyone he beat
4. Big Nog- beat a who's who, and remained competitive for years
5. Cro Cop- Smashed everyone in his early days not named Fedor or Nog (ok, and Kev)
6. Werdum- Beat the best guys (Cain, Fedor) but was inconsistent
7. Ngannou- Smashy
8. Cormier- Amazing fighter. Beat Stipe. Didn't have enough high quality opposition wins to be top 5
9, JDS- Probably the most historical early run, great champ
10. Couture- 3 time champ, didn't face the toughest opposition, but they were the toughest at that time
Honorables to Coleman, Overeem and Sylvia
