And this is exactly why Werdum needs to be top 3 with only Fedor whom he beat and Stipe higher. Fedor vs Werdum rematch should of happened and Werdum vs Stipe II and Werdum vs Cormier also would of been good. We got robbed not seeing Werdum defend the belt and not seeing him vs Cormier who I am positive he would of wrecked or him vs Fedor II to see if Fedor really just got caught.

Cormier is the most overrated HW who has his HW record beating past prime Mir and Barnett but still i cant discount these wins fully and he did manage to beat TRT Prime Big Foot. But he got destroyed by old Stipe 2x and only managed a fluke win after he eyepoked Stipe. He then was sonned by Jones 2x. And retired before he had to face real elite HWs like Ngannou and Blaydes. Yeah he beat Lewis who is ranked but lets be real at where Lewis ranks. The most annoying thing about Cormier is he retired so soon before that he gave no argument to if he would of won or lost vs Werdum, Ubereem, Etc. If Stipe and Jones gets wrecked then people will just do MMA math and assume Cormier could not hang with modern HWs but it wont fully answer how he would of done vs all the guys he avoided fighting. That is why I hope Cormier comes back at HW for an interim title shot vs Gane and ideally losses so his overrated legacy can be shushed.

I take Overeem above Werdum in rankings.
Overeem 2 wins to 1 over Werdum.
The only reason Werdum was even in a position to fight Fedor is because Fedor ducked Ubereem.

So rare, that people in this very thread celebrate a record of 4 (non-consecutive) title defenses for Stipe as reason why he is number 1.... 4 fights... with a loss in the middle... and it is so hard to achieve.... yet Fedor won for a decade and you want to make less of it because he lost to Bader at the obvious tail-send of his career?
Sorry, but that is as biased as the guys you try to dismiss and for almost the same reason (just different fighter or different promotion).

Who said Anderson Silva was a can? That's a new one. Cans are going to be like Zuluzinho, Heath Herring, and any professional wrestler who is dabbling in MMA by starting with Fedor or Cro Cop.

Fedor should be the #1 HW in anyone's list because he actually beat legit fighters, consistently. No one has matched that, yet. But if he keeps fighting, and losing, and lets say finished his career on a 0-10 run, then yes that matters. You don't get to rewrite someone's career and cut out the parts you don't like.

You don't erase a decade unbeaten because at the tail end of your career you lose 10 fights.

oh, and if you didn't notice, by your own logic, you just called Silva a can. After all, he did go on a 1-7-1 record at the end of his UFC run. ;)
Isn't is odd that you apply a rule for Fedor but Silva does not get the same treatment?

Your list highlights some of the tougher problems. JDS over Cain isn't easy, because of, well, the beating s JDS took at Cain's hands. But Cain's resume does hurt him in all time rankings. I actually like Stipe over Nog, but that isn't an easy call either.

Mir messed up his career with the motorcycle accident end he never came back to the level he left. Which is impressive considering he reached championship level after the accident. But Mir even said he never felt 100% again after the accident.

But JDS is my answer.
