I lean towards Tom, mostly because of his fight age, and the unknown factor, but I cannot for the life of me understand the overabundance of faith that everyone here has in him.

His resume simply does not support it. His best win is Volkov, who's only top 5 because the division is so shallow. Shallow as the division is, he still hasn't been Gane and did not beat a 300 year old Miocic when he was around- two things that Ngannou did.

Fuck it, Ngannou, because he is an actuality, not a potentiality.

The reason a lot of people are buying into Tom is that via the eye test he's passing with absolute flying colors. Yes the division is weak but of who is there, he's easily wrecked half the top 10. (And hasn't beaten Gane yet because Gane ducked him). And while Gane has had serious struggles (even outside his 2 losses) vs Tuivasa (almost was finished by him) and Volkov (was just gifted a decision)...Aspinall's only moment of vulnerability was a freak non-contact knee injury.

And one other thing--unlike Pavlovich when he was on his KO run...Aspinall isn't in there winging wild hooks and hoping one lands to end fights. He's throwing crisp straight counter shots or fast combos in the pocket. His punches get there quicker than any HW's are used to having to deal with. The KO's are organic, not forced by him being overly reckless.

He is extremely fast, but not without flaws. He has good defense but he exposes himself a lot when he is on the offense.
He got caught several times by Blaydes and Pavlovich, and Ngannou is better and more powerful than them.

Oh he's not perfect, I agree. He's been clipped but rarely is hit clean. More glancing shots because he's been fast enough to avoid being hit flush (so far).

Ngannou now is just likely too old and slow for Tom. 5 years ago...Francis had good speed too. The problem is that 5 years ago was before Tom hit his prime. They're primes really haven't overlapped.

I think Tom wrestle fucks Francis & subs him but Ngannou could drop him. It's impossible to debate these things because we'll never truly know unless they step into the cage against each other.

If Tom can keep Ngannou moving backwards and implement a heavy TD/ground game, probably an easy night at the office. IF he can’t get those TDs or decides he wants to trade with big Frank, I think he ends up waking up. Francis might not be as a “skilled” striker but even his sloppy, looping punches put guys out cold.

Tom if he can avoid getting caught early with a full blast from Ngannou.

Of Jones., Ngannou and Aspinall if you ranked them Francis is the 3rd place.

On paper, Tom should win due to Francis getting older and his knee problems.

But Tom likes to move forward with his chin in the air. Francis can KO him. I also wouldn't be shocked to see Francis wrestle him to victory either.

This is the best fight to make. I would bet on Aspinall because of age and speed.

I’d Pick Tom , obviously if Francis lands clean it’s a problem for anyone

I think Tom is faster and that would get him the win. But no one has 1 punch power like fran, ask Cain he got koed from a grazer

I think Tom takes it via speed, but Ngannou has good timing on his counters and could catch him with the left hook coming in.

Grappling also goes to Aspinall but raw strength goes to Big Frank, probably ragdolls him in the clinch.

At their peaks I would take Ngannou vs KO, Tom has that weird UK thing where he leaves his chin straight up and he gets clocked quite a bit, that wouldn't fly with Ngannou.
Today I think Tom is too young & Ngannou is older, inactive, etc. and would get the win. Maybe TKO or Sub.

JJ defeats Tom Aspinall and then beats Ngannou. That's what Jon Jones said he would do, and that's what he will likely do.
