Stipe was 20-4 at the time, and his previous nine fights were all title fights. If you're really holding the Ngannou loss against him, you must be the only one left who doubts Ngannou's credentials.

There's really no winning with Jones haters. If Jones finishes someone (like Gane or Miocic), they were never that good and obviously a gimme fight for him. If he dominates them in a decision (like Smith), he's a scrub for not finishing them. If he struggles against someone (like Santos or Reyes), he's been exposed, and you might as well count those fights as losses regardless of the scorecards. If he beats older fighters, he has the unfair advantage of youth. If he beats younger fighters, he has the unfair advantage of experience.

At some point you just have to admit that you're going to have an excuse for any success Jones has, and nothing's going to be good enough for you.

I don't doubt Ngannou. I doubt Stipe after not winning a fight in 4 years, obviously being battle worn, not fighting for several years and being 42 years old and coming off a brutal KO loss.

Don't act like Stipe was in his prime. Beating Stipe now is not the same as beating him 4 years ago, and I think you know that just as well.

I think Gane is a legit win for Jones, but don't pretend that Stipe is some meaningful win for Jones. Especially when he took that fight instead of Aspinall.
