If he dominates them in a decision (like Smith), he's a scrub for not finishing them. If he struggles against someone (like Santos or Reyes), he's been exposed, and you might as well count those fights as losses regardless of the scorecards. If he beats older fighters, he has the unfair advantage of youth. If he beats younger fighters, he has the unfair advantage of experience.

At some point you just have to admit that you're going to have an excuse for any success Jones has, and nothing's going to be good enough for you.

Lol no. The Stipe Ngannou beat was 38 and had fought within the last 6 months. The Stipe Jones fought was 42 and essentially called up from retirement, as he hadn't fought at all the previous 3+ years.
