Media Tom Aspinall ready to move on from Jones fight: "Jon's retired"

Well, fans actually want fighters to fight if they want to. If a fighters who has had 30 fights, 15 of them being word championship fights, is nearing 40 (which to someone who has fought so much, is already an old age) says he is not interested in fighting anymore, fans wouldn't want the fighter to be forced to fight. Fans would understand that there are times the fighter needs to stop fighting. Whether the organizations decides to officially let that clear or not, is not the fighters' choice and fault.
Uh huh.

It sucks Francis is gone. Tom vs Ngannou would be fire.
Nah. You looking the wrong direction. Alex Pereira vs JJ would be fire. Ankalaev vs Jon Jones would be fire. DDP vs Alex Pereira would be fire. Don't look just at size and think it's the standard for best. LHW is the premiere division because it balances height and skills very well. So much so DDP, Chimaev, Alex Pereira, Ankalaev, Reyes, Rountree, Jiri... They're fighters who got way more attention, exposure and analysis than any heavyweight unless very old era... Because the skill set is way bigger there. When someone who does well in a weight class, but cuts weight, they generally do better when moving up, because generally, the lowest the weight class, more skilled they are.

That's why Ngannou said Alex Pereira would definitely be successful at HW and possibly get a belt there even tho he knew JJ and Tom were in the picture. Francis said "He'd definitely be successful there. Get the belt? Maybe. Keep it for how long? I don't know. But yes, it's very possible he gets the belt moving up" ...

Gane was the #1 contender when Francis left. JJ defeated him within a round when he adapted well to the weight. Meanwhile, LHW was not easy, he needed to dig deep on many fights. DC also struggled in LHW. Yes JJ was the main thing, but Gustafsson was a hell of a fight for him, a classic split decision win that could go both ways... And other guys outside JJ gave him a hard time. He moved up at 39 year old, and defeated one of the top guys there, Derrick Lewis, in 1 round. Defeated Stipe first fight in a round and lost the other 2 matches, but the other two were all tough , very rough fights for Stipe... And DC was 42 years old. Yeah it doesn't mean much, but a DC who fought Gus was better than the one who got the belt in HW, and Stipe was like a Gustafsson there... Stipe was also smaller generally than average HWs, not for nothing he was seen as the most complete HW, because he was an all rounded fighter who had great durability, great fight IQ, great wrestling, heavy, very heavy power punching with accuracy... He was 6x world champion there, he was a HW with LHW skills.

When Ngannou was comparing, just recently, Stipe Miocic vs X fighter in who was better/who would win, he said Stipe without even thinking twice for Cain Velasquez, Overeem, Junior dos Santos, Brock Lesnar. As for Stipe vs DC, he paused a little and said "Stipe". When asked Stipe vs Tom, he said Stipe without thinking twice. Then Stipe vs Poatan'... He paused and said "Stipe, maybe... This is a tough one. But for now Stipe, but who knows". Then Stipe vs JJ he said "hmm they will still fight, right? But I will say Stipe because I'm rooting for Stipe haha"

Pathetic stuff.

Anyone read any of Luffy's last 3 demented ramblings

"Could probably sum them up as it's OK for Jon to duck and hold the belt hostage because I like Tom."?
Something about Pereira running through Aspinall at HW? Dude is the most deluded and long-winded poster I've ever seen

I guarantee that Tom is going to take another fight, and the second that's announced, Jones is going to start posting on social media "Where the fuck is everyone, been here ready to fight this entire time, I'll defend my title against a scrub" just to fuck with Tom and the UFC.

Worst thing to have at the top of a dead HW division is Tom Aspinall.
A proper real deal champ beating anything even coming close to contenter into a pulp while being boring doing it.
Two levels above any fat fuck giving it a try.

Someone who fights is always less boring than someone who doesn't

The problem with the HW division is the place is a wasteland. Tom has nobody to fight but Jones and he knows it.. The UFC knows it.. So the waiting game continues.. It is NOT like Tom has peak Stipe, DC, Werdum, JDS, Cain or Brock to fight.. Tom picked a lousy time to make his legacy at HW..
I agree that the HW division is very shallow, but it still is an active division that needs to be ran. Tom would have guys lined up for him if Jon wasn't holding up the division. Granite there isn't a murderous row of guys in it now a days like you mentioned, but Gane & Almedia are off the top of my head of potential opponents for Tom if he wasn't waiting on Jon. If Teixeira beats the black beast he will be in the mix of things too.

Random & off topic, but I'd love to see prime Frank Mir vs Tom Aspinall.

"I'm ready to move on from the JJ loss and keep on" he means 😆

What's pathetic? You mean a fighter has to fight and never retire?
You would have an argument if the duck was retiring and not holding the belt hostage.

He isn't, he is and you don't.

Your have an argument if he didn't do they after beating Tom's ass, but he did.

You'd have argument if he did that without dominating Tom, but he beat Tom ass. So there's nothing else. Just wait and see.

That is some amazing spin.

Tom bodied Jones by announcing his retirement. Chucked him aside as irrelevant. "Yeah he was a great LHW but nobody wants to see him get hurt so he's retiring."
