Tom Aspinall says no amount of money can make him go shoot for a movie while he is still actively fighting.

Aspinall (15-3) will look to defend his heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane (13-2) in the UFC 321 main event on Oct. 25 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Aspinall had wanted to defend his interim title against Gane at UFC 304 in London last year. However, Aspinall accused “Bon Gamin” of ducking him to film the French Netflix movie, “KO.” Aspinall claims that, unlike Gane, even $50 million wouldn’t suffice for him to abandon his craft and shoot a movie.

“I wouldn’t do a Netflix documentary for $50 million while I’m still active and fighting,” Aspinall told RMC Sport Combat. “No chance. You couldn’t pay me enough money to do it. 100% committed to my craft, a 100%.”

Aspinall defended his interim title against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 in July 2024 and hasn’t fought since. “Honey Badger” kept rallying for a title unifier against former champ Jon Jones, who eventually vacated the belt earlier this year.

I really like Tom but this is kind of silly. Yes Cyril took time off to film a movie but at least he was getting paid. Tom took over a year off for FREE to rally for a TS and film Youtube video's because he didn't want to defend his Interim again. At least Cyril was getting paid to take the time off, mean while Tom voluntarily did so for FREE.

How do you know he wasn’t getting paid to stay ready and keep the pressure on Jonny Duck Meat to man up.
You actually expect him to just keep on defending with an interim belt while the champ is healthy

I don't know if he was getting paid or not I'll admit and my point isn't to say what Tom did regarding the JJ was wrong. My point is that they both voluntarily took time off to do something else, it was just for different reasons and Tom trying to say Gane's reason somehow makes him mentally different from him is silly. I know this all just harmless pre fight build up but it's just a really weird angle to try and come at Gane from considering they both have been just as inactive as one another lately..

You have a source he didn't get paid? Because he said the UFC wasn't offering alternate opponents as they kept telling him they'd get the Jones fight made. Contracts are written so that the UFC must offer fighters x number of fights per year. If they weren't, that means they were literally paying Aspinall to wait for them to get the Jones fight made.

I know it's burying the lede a bit but did that article just call Tom "honey badger"? Maybe I'm just an Aspinall neophyte but I don't remember him being called that before

"I'd turn down 50 million dollars to film a documentary"

"I never actually wanted to fight Jones"

"my inactivity and lack of film is my strength"

"I have a huge announcement.... I'm selling suppliments now"

This might be one of the most mentally weak fighters on the roster. If he starts yapping about guns or aliens I'm going to lose my shit 😂

The shit some of you goobers latch onto lmao.

An exciting HW that knocks everyone out and you got your panties in a bunch because of what the guy says on social media? 🤣

He chose to sit out because he was under the impression that Dana would get Jon to fight. Turns out it wasn't the right choice, but Tom wanted to unify the belts.

Who was he offered? It's been explicitly talked about that he was NOT offered anyone because the organization wanted him to wait for Jones.

Chill champs, was just joking around with a Brian Ortega meme reference while stoned.

God, it would be just so funny if he loses to the guy who got literally blanketed by Ngannou in the worst wrestling performance this world has ever seen.

Or even worse, wins a life and death 5 round split decision.
