Media Tom Aspinall: Have Meeting W/ UFC Discussing "Alternative" Opponents

Is Jones Ducking or UFC not Paying?

I don't think this fight is worth it for either of them anymore.

For Jones it doesn't add anything.

For Tom it's attacking an old man,
He would have beaten someone past his prime.
it's also worthless.

It would be better to turn the page.

Zero interest in this fight from now on.

part of that problem is because Aspinall has beaten everyone ranked

it's the old "the best fight the best" that White peddles to everyone

and that's UFC's own making. had they stripped Jon Tom would've beaten those guys as defenses and surpassed the HW defense record by now, while still being under the age of 35 is crazy for a HW.

Dana in November: "I'm 100% confident Jones vs Aspinall gets made. Yeah."

Dana in April: "I meant 0.100%"

Listen you goofs I said Jones vs Aspinall is happening and it's fuckin happening. I'm a man of my word. I just never said it would be happening in the UFC.

We are gonna livestream Jens Pulver playing EA Sports UFC 5, using Jones against Aspinall this Saturday. Only on Fight Pass, don't miss it.

If/When Aspinall batters Jones, no doubt White will reverse the narrative and we will see Aspinall luaded as the HW champ with the most defences, its all very predictable

Beyond pathetic at this stage.

Picto needs to just vacate the belt and go back to committing crimes.

Dana is only letting Jon keep the belt so long in the name of public safety. An angry stripped title Jones is a threat to every pregnant pedestrian and mother out there.

it's kind of wild they don't strip Jon. Tom has such a huge upside, especially for this division. he's really young, he's talented, and he's eager to fight. plus he's fluent in English. he has the ability to be a much bigger star than Ngannou did when they got behind him.

I'm about 70% sure at this point, it's related to the new media deal they are shopping around to networks when the ESPN deal ends later this year. Jones is the only remaining american UFC star that non-MMA fans have heard that.

Dana probably uses that in his sales pitch how they still have big stars as champs.

Most people would assume Tom beats Volkov again, even though Volkov has been looking improved. Gane could be a bit technical of a problem to get passed if Tom gets sucked into striking with him, but otherwise, you'd imagine Tom wrecks him with some grappling. By the time those 2 fights are done, you get Jailton Almeida, who has already hit his own hurdle with Blaydes, so most would favor Tom for that.

If Tom was already allowed to start this reign as undisputed champion, that respectable run would already put him at 4 title defenses, which breaks the record for most consecutive and ties the record for total defenses, and he wouldn't even be into his mid 30's yet. Add the UK market and you have a lot of potential to sell him as something, but no, they're holding onto this weird nostalgia, where we have to act like the guy who was the 'greatest we've ever seen' 8 years ago should still today be treated as if he's the greatest
