Jon has 1 fight at HW, against the one with the worst ground game. Jon ain't in any position to deny matchups. But Jon was always ducking the real HWs, as always.

The situation's only ridiculous because they forced Sergei to take on Aspinall instead of just doing Stipe/Sergei as was already agreed upon as Sergei was the official backup fighter for Jon/Stipe. Aspinall was (literally) flown in out of nowhere last minute instead.

We're only stuck with a meaningless interim belt because the UFC made it meaningless by not including Stipe who had the existing title shot. If he won, great now he definitely deserves the title shot. If he lost, great now he definitely doesn't deserve the title shot. By skipping out on Stipe that's completely unresolved.

The entire point of using a fake interim belt to make a #1 contender is that the fighters actually were the ones up for #1 contender and so leaves a clear person who gets the next shot. This didn't happen here.
 
Jones is a fake champ. He has only 1 heavyweight fight ever, against a guy with no grappling, who wasn’t even the champion.

Clearly the UFC is okay with waiting for Stipe vs Jon.
Once again fans think the UFC is a legitimate, competitive sports league. It's not. It's entertainment. It's closer to WWE and professional wrestling than it is to the NFL, NBA, MLB or other professional leagues.

It's just the truth. Accept it already. The UFC isn't going to let Tom throw a wrench in a fight the UFC can promote as the GOAT MMA fighter vs the GOAT HW fight. Most likely this fight is going to take place in the Middle East. The Saudis already cancelled the March UFC event because they said the line up wasn't exciting enough. They Saudis want fights with legendary names like Jon and Stipe. They aren't paying a king's ransom to the UFC to see Tom Aspinal in a main event.

Once again it's just the truth. You don't kill your cash cows until you squeeze every red cent out of them.
 
Aspinall literally just finished the boogeyman of the division lol how is he ducking? Beating Blaydes, who was KOd by the guy he just beat, doesn’t mean nearly as much. I guess Almeida hugging an old Derrick Lewis for 25 minutes warrants a title shot now.

The situation is ridiculous for many reasons.

You make it sound as if the UFC skipped over Stipe (not sure if that was your intent). The reality is that Stipe has been clear that he only wants to fight Jones. And Jones has been clear that he only wants to fight Stipe. And the UFC is more than happy to oblige because they think it's a money fight. They're all complicit in this sham. Aspinall and Pavlovich were nothing more than pawns because the UFC needed a "title fight" to beef up the MSG card.

That being said, if I were Aspinall, I'd just crush of couple of these flawed HW contenders and collect easy ppv points. There's no point in crying about it; everyone knew the sham they signed up for.

Almeida isn't even Top 5 yet; people would pitch a fit if Tom called him out. Furthermore, Blaydes is coming off a fucking TKO loss... to the guy Aspinall in turn just KO'd to get the interim belt! But then again the same people who make these sorts of silly meme arguments would probably say "Well yeah but Aspinall has to avenge his loss to Curtis!!!1!1!"
 
He's the interim champ. The only person he should be fighting next is the disputed champ.

He said he wanted Cyril after the UFC Paris card and was cageside cause he wanted to fight the winner and Cyril wanted nothing to do with it
