News THREE fighters who have DEFEATED UFC champion Alex Pereira are fighting on this season's Dana White's Contender Series

Yousri Belgaroui is a fun technical fighter, but him not sitting down on his punches is a bit concerning. Taiga took a ton of hits before he was taken out by a flying knee.

Taiga doesn't look like a guy who could last in the UFC at MW long either, so even though Yousri won by a lot, I'm a bit skeptical about his long term prospects. He's still quite young though, young enough to learn legitimate takedown defense and be a point fighter or late game finisher.

Not to mention won the title. How can someone be unworthy if they are the best at what they do?
Winning the title doesn't mean you're the best. Brock Lesnar was never the best heavyweight in MMA, or even the UFC.

The UFC title is controlled by the UFC, meaning its a promotional tool. It's not like you have to literally beat every elite fighter to get the title. Lesnar won the title from someone who shouldn't have even been champion due to inactivity.

Not to mention many people outside the UFC or even at the UFC's 205 division would have beaten Randy Courture at that point.

Brock beat one really good guy in his prime, Frank Mir, and another live contender who didn't fight many guys, Shane Carwin (which he barely won). That isn't evidence to support he was the best HW. Velasquez at the very least was always better.

More to do with placing Brock in same category as CM Punk rather than if Brock was the best hw or not. He still wore the symbol and was briefly ranked as the n.1 hw OVER Fedor, Reem, Cain, Werdum etc in fall of 2010. So technically you could say at one moment in time he indeed was the best hw at least in the ufc and everything else is subjective.

That's because there has always been a favoritism to ranking the UFC champ as #1 on rankings. That still doesn't mean that he was the best, and there isn't much evidence to support that he really was.

Comparing CM Punk with him is really silly, that's true. But I think it's still hyperbolic to say Brock was the best.

Oh yeah completly a hyperbole I agree

Does Glory not pay very well? Why are all these kickboxing crossing over to MMA?

idk about the pay in glory but maybe some of them feel that their time in high competitive kb is over or going to end soon and in the ufc Poatan is the flavour of the year: a little backstory to forge a new rivality and money'll rain.
The iron is hot in mma for kickboxers, especially the ones that already fought Poatan: it's a unique opportunity whose life span is limited by Poatan's longevity and ability to stay victorius.

Well...
2 guys
Ottoni pulled out due to "personal issues".
Some stuff is appearing now:

He decides to pull out around the second fight
Sean Shelby talks to him and he changes his mind
He decides to pull out again
His coach almost gets into a fight with him

Is there any thread about this?

Quemuel had a panic attack

Unfortunately no more chances in UFC

I'm disappointed the UFC did not pickup Belgaroui but now hope he goes back to kickboxing.

They're trying to recreate what they did with Poatan/Izzy

Will get a guy to face Poatan and beat him

then they start stacking DWCS with guys that beat that guy

and on the circle goes
