How crazy is it that it was ten years ago that Bale last played Batman.
There were moments of lightness and good-natured, comedic tone that I really enjoyed. For example, the little montage where Korg explains what Thor's and Jane's relationship was like. I thought that was a lot of fun. Then there were comedic elements that felt try-hard and tacked on.
Bale was great. But the biggest issue with Gorr was so tonally different than what was going on in the vast majority of the film. It's strange to have joke, joke, joke, joke then deadly serious shadow villain.
A small female as Thor is utter bullshit. Give Chris back his fucking Hammer and let him be what he is. I am a Portman fan. But give us THOR....Enough with the fat goofy Thor carrying over. Thor should be maturing and really becoming the dominant Hero he is. That all being said, Bale is dominant and this movie still had great moments. But the writing is indeed shit, and almost kiddish.
