As a huge Thor fan I am seriously disappointed.

This is what happens when you let waititi “write” a movie and just do whatever the hell he wants with no oversight.

ugh where do I even start with this
-tons of trash comedy
-bale was had a good performance but Gorr was lame
-portman was good but her story wasn’t
-“plot” was a rushed incoherent mess jumbled together
-gotg were a throwaway like everything else
- the goats were the best part
-thors suit was cheap plastic looked horrible
- Crowe was also good but his character wasn’t
- copped out of a few death scenes which got rid of any stakes
-kat dennings was back, all 500lbs of her
- the kids shit at the end was cringe Harry Potter trash
- the gorrs kid thing made zero sense & there were no scenes or connection between them to make it plausible
- the kid with stormbreaker was embarrassing but hey had to find a reason to throw his daughter in the movies right lol
- ugh. That’s all I can think of fresh out the theater. Disappointing waste of hemsworth

the Hercules casting is absolutely horrific

I’ve been saying Marvel is done since after infinity war but I just can’t get excited anymore about anything. Or DC for that matter. It’s over & it’s depressing.

Bale was good as Gorr. Guy is just an incredible actor. He can do any role

Portman was solid. Thought she would drag the movie down but she was a bright spot. She looked great as Lady Thor

Not as good as Ragnarok but I enjoyed it

The opening scene may have been the worst introduction to a character in any comic book movie, ever.

The eternity fight scene was just an absolute cheese fest.


The rest was fairly decent but ultimately a let down. The comedy focus was pretty forced and repetitive. The ode to 1950's drive in horror movies was pretty cool during the shadow realm fight scene.

It wasn smack dab in the middle, mediocre movie with a bunch of mildly entertaining spots and a few major stinkers.

Time marvel moved on from Taika.

Yeah Raimi's film was a lot better in my opinion.

No Way Home is the only Phase 4 film that matches up with the best of the MCU: Winter Soldier, Civil War and Infinity War.

Not defending the explanation (or lack thereof) behind it, but that wasn't something that I took issue with, cause they are least established prior she wasn't normal whether that was just her or her species (I assume we'll get more info if she shows up again and isn't dumped off on someone else after all)

That's fair, my issue was the entire thing though...especially the explanation/lack of one.
When the whole story hinges around the subject of gods and mortals, what really separates the two if mortals have godly powers and gods can die? It's not really consistent with the story they were telling without an explanation. And even with an explanation, the whole idea was just dumb on every level for me.

Why the inconsistency? You would think the writer/director of Thor 4 would remember the dialog (that he spoke) from Thor 3. I know it's a little thing, but was distracting.

I give it a 7. There were some parts I liked, and some parts I thought were silly. Some of the plot points are wtf. Bale and Russell Crowe were entertaining. Hemsworth is good as Thor.

Bale is getting a lot of praise here in this thread, but I just don't see it. I assume his best work was left on the cutting room floor. I honestly thought that they could have hired a no name actor to deliver the same lines.

As for Crowe, I thought his fake Greek accent was dumb. Wearing the chest plate hid his gut and made him look like fat and old Maximus. Clearly he didn't have a "you need to workout" clause in his contract.

Half of the scene was me wondering what a gladiator sequel would look like. After all, the script was leaked a few years ago.

But the whole story is dumb. Gorr came off as a normal humanoid figure when he was introduced, and he got his power from an evil sword. She should be the same. To then revive his daughter and she comes back with god powers... ? Why? Why would resurrection come with laser eyes and super strength?
Why is Eternity granting wishes? What does Thor know about raising a child?
Aesthetically, it just looks dumb seeing a little girl running around with a weapon that is bigger than her. The weapon that took a sun to forge and chopped off Thanos' head is now being used by a 10 year old? Too much for me.

Just way too much going on and thus nothing felt complete.
- GoTG should have just been cut out entirely as I do not think they provided any fan service bump
- Most of the New Asgard stuff should have been cut, including the kids as the reason for Thor chasing down Gorr.
- Thor chasing down Gorr simply for slaughtering Gods would have been enough and instead of having the kids become mini Thor's kicking ass which completely depowered the threat of the Shadow monsters, instead Hercules should have shown up, sent by Zeus, and instead of fighting Thor, recognized the threat and helped Thor by holding back the shadow hordes. Give us a flash of Hercules power in a way that made him look potentially more powerful than Thor and after the battle, Herc says something like 'we are not done God of Thunder' to better set up, that he plans to hold Thor accountable for what they did to Zeus.
- They needed to make Zeus look waaaaay more powerful and have had Thor and crew, trick him to steal the Bolt, and thus why he would send Herc to address the offense. Having a powerful Zeus would be a good way to set up the threat of Galactus or another big bad in the future by having Zeus beaten back by one of them.

This one is as forgettable as Thor 1 & 2.

I agree....and i actually agree 100%.

Bale did fine, but i was expecting something great. With all the praise hes getting, YES, it couldve just been someone else.

I dont like seeing neither Russell Crowe nor Zeus fat. He was a slob and another forced comedy act. Reminded me of goldblum in ragnorok. I gave sympathy chuckles at both of these.

Nah, this is about Taika. That's how he is. He wrote the movie that he wanted to write without much restrictions and guidance that Marvel usually has for its movies. It's pretty obvious because post End Game, there hasn't been any semblance of an overall plan for the MCU.
I'm sure there wasnt some group Marvel consensus at the studio that "Thor is now a kids character". Doesn't make sense. You don't show bare asses, talk about orgies, and make some of the other jokes they made for a movie that is for kids. This was Taika going full Taika. He's a goofy talented dude that got a pass to go wild because of how successful Ragnarok was.

I liked Crowe in it well enough. That scene was uneven but I thought Crowe was good enough comic relief. I remember him hosting SNL a few years back and I think it was right in line with the release of the Nice Guys. Both his sketches and that movie definitely showed
me he’s got surprisingly good comedic timing and instincts.

As for Bale, I thought he was very clearly one of the best aspects of the film. Yeah maybe not some indelible MCU performance like Hiddleston as Loki or Brolin as Thanos but I’d put him up there with Jordan, Keaton, Gyllenhaal as examples of very good actors who make the villain stand out.

To each their own , that was super cringey to me. Also I've seen posts here that say the theaters they were at had good laughs , the one I was in not so much.

Sounds like a much better story.

Hell, throw Ares in there too and have Zeus send both his sons.
