During high school our entire school used to go to the gymnasium every now and then for a pep-rally. They didn’t do a roll call, and I used that opportunity to sneak out. I’d drive to Pizza Hut and eat with my buddies.

Can't you still eat inside a Pizza Hut? Pretty sure our local one has seating, though I haven't been there in 20+ years.

They still exist. I have at least one left in my area like that, though most are the carry-out only version. I don't think I've been in 15+ years and I only went then because the people I was with wanted to eat there. I quit eating pizza hut around the early 00's because it didn't taste the same at that point.
