Are you this old?

Used to hit up the Pizza Hut buffet for lunch all the time during high school. Restaurants are tiny and sterile now.

Upon one or two occasions, only when the kids wanted a birthday party there . Otherwise, no , as I have said before, I'm not a fan of pizza ....

lol. i was a kid that lived through actual communism in eastern euro.
i had my first pizza when i was 12, and i thought nothing on this planet could be tastier.
downside is that it was still a semi communist country when i had it, so it has a specific taste due to the stuff that was used to do it, so now my recollection of the first pizza ever cannot be reconstructed in modern countries.

i had to go to Kenya and Mongolia to get the taste i remembered as a child.

never had pizza hut before i was like 20, and by that time i had way better pizzas, so i can't connect to the 80s pizza hut memory. having a pizza in America, Italy, or the EU in general now is obviously better, but from the point of view of that small kid that never had it before 12, the memory is always connected to the taste of that first one.
I read this article/theory almost 15 yrs ago. I think it rings true.

"Pizza Cognition Theory: Kenji popularised this theory on Serious Eats, which argues that the very first type of pizza a person experiences as a child becomes their lifelong, subconscious standard for "real" pizza."

That's not so long ago. 2000s? I also remember Taco Bell having smoking and non-smoking areas. I thought it was a legit restaurant.

Elzio here is so old they hadn't even invented pizza. ;)

I think the last time I ate at Pizza Hut was in high school. They had these small pizzas they would make and have ready for us high schoolers during lunch time. It wasn't a favorite meal of mine but friends enjoyed the place.

Im old enough to remember Pizza Hut being an actual sit down type resturant in the late 70s /80s. That picture looks like 60s though - thats before me.

im not ol' enuff. I remembr going to a sit-down Pizza Hut (tm) an yelling an fighting with my brothers, the waitress looked at us with nostalgia, she was thinking of when it was a Friday and the place was hopping. It was depressing. We were the only family in that bitch. I think today it is a KFC/Tbell drive thru
