You're using MMAth if anything.
Wrong.
You're using MMAth if anything.
Prime Fedor is still the most over rated fighter in the whole history of MMA, fought a who's who of nobodies, Hong Man Choi for gods sake, now he's fighting Maldonado?? WTF. Got battered by Bigfoot, Ko'd by Dan Henderson (a middle weight), struggled against Brett Rogers, a novice, opted to Fight Ishii, a five fight novice, he fought Singh Jaideep, a 2 fight novice, what the hell for? Took on a 40 year old Jeff Monson, who was going nowhere. In his so called prime, he fought Matt Lindland, a middleweight, Crocop lasted the distance with him, he got exposed pretty soon after. Before Crocop he fought Tsuyoshi Kohsaka all but a light heavyweight with a record of 26-16, 2 fights previous he fought Naoya Ogawa a 7 fight novice, I could go on.
When you actually look at his record, it's padded as hell, and the top guys on his sheet were very limited on the whole. Big Nog is probably his best win, but there's quite a list of guys who have beaten him. This 'Prime Fedor' horse shit ignores all the meaningless fights he had and doesn't recognise the poor quality of opponent he faced. The Myth of the Russian Emperor is just that, a myth..

fedor beats up bears in his spare time. he would easily arm bar cormier if he didnt already finish him standing.

bears figured they couldnt beat him so they asked him to help train their bear cubs

No offense, but submission defense has come a long way from when Fedor was armbarring folks...
Cormier wins.
I agree prime fedor would have beaten the Cormier we know mainly due to superior athleticism and fight experience.
But we ll prolly never know what could have a been a prime Cormier if he'd have started his MMA career 5 years earlier ...
Assuming Cormier doesn't get Zulu'd by Fedor (i know i know, chances are very slim, but still) and he manages to take Fedor down, this is what happens next: he's get armbarred. End of story.
Why? because there is no freaking way Cormier survives on top of a prime Fedor the way he fights on the ground.
DC loves, and i mean he absolutely LOVES leaving himself opened to armbars. He loves resting his arms on his opponents' chest and leaving his fully extended arm around. Check it out:
Fully extended arms. Fedor loves those.

Jesus Christ somebody tell Cormier he shouldn't leave his arm there. Prime Fedor would abuse.

Uh oh..thank god that fattie isn't Fedor

This is 2 seconds before Fedor armbarred Coleman:

fully extended arm again

Not a good idea vs. the GOAT Fedor:

DC's biggest MMA skill: leaving himself opened for armbars. (btw Gus did realize Cormier was leaving himself opened and attempted an armbar from the bottom. Too bad he's no Fedor).

DC begging for an armbar some more

Guess who else makes the same mistake?

Fighters these days....
Careful where you put your arm boys. It might get broken when you fight someone competent on the ground, such as...

Real pic. Not kidding.
Prime Fedor > all. If you try to debate this, you don't know the sport well enough.
Cheers.
Fedor got blasted by trt bigfoot...
Dc knocked trt bigfeets head off in the first roimd...
Fedor would get pasted onto the canvas by dc the ufc would be sponsored by russia..
Because he trains it every day with high level team mates. He has grappled his whole life and knows when he is in trouble (far better than you), as evidence by him not being armbarred by any of the people in the pics.
