the tv show 2 broke girls

I hate stupid sitcoms loaded up with PG13 sex jokes, a la "How I met your mother". If we're going to go down the sex joke road, then I'm all in for Jim Norton type stuff.

The show is complete garbage, the acting is bad the writing is painfully cringe worthy and it has the worlds most annoying laugh track of all time

If it wasn't for Kat's kitties I wouldn't even stop for the 2 minutes I do while surfing. The shit borders on unwatcheable. No idea how people actually watch entire episodes.

Also, what Two Broke Girls was TRYING to be, was a modern Lavern and Shirley which was a smash hit sitcom. But Two Broke Girls relies on dirty humor and lacks heart and true wit which the former comedy had in spades (at least for back then).

Agreed.

Other chick not getting ANY love. I have to admit, i like her taste in shirts

Beth Behrs was groomed as a Lucille Ball type on the show. They should do more porno make up.

Or just straight porn. I would hoard that shit like i belonged on a reality show....

I'll take the one with dark hair and big tits.

And yes that show is terrible.

I watched the whole first season and I honestly have no idea why, its horrible. While both are very attractive, both main characters are terrible. The Russian cook amuses me and the little Asian guy is alright but other than that there are really no redeeming qualities about it.

Fey is the trailblazer. She was the head writer of the SNL tenure that saw the rise of all these female stars in this generation of comedy: Poehler, Wiig, Rudolph, Dratch. You can tell she was just a natural leader who yoked not just these women, but the entire cast, and really produced a stronger SNL collaborative spirit than we have witnessed in any other SNL generation. She even made it okay for female comedians to be as attractive as possible.

Take Poehler. Did you watch her when she first came onto the show? Then watch her after she has a season under her belt next to Fey on Weekend Update. She absolutely bloomed, and you could just tell that confidence and excitement was like a kid sibling who finds a mentor and suddenly realized that she is empowered to become the best version of herself. She had this sudden enthusiasm that she could tell jokes with a message that were worth telling and simultaneously funny. As long as Tina was there things would be fine. Jimmy Fallon, too. Seth Myers just picked up the tone of the Weekend Update that Tina created and ran with it. He didn't try to renovate the style the way all previous hosts have (Spade, Neiland, Norm, Colin, etc.) Everybody since her has just done a Tiny Fey version of Weekend Update.

It spins out. Melissa McCarthy capitalized on her stint in Wiig's Bridesmaids to become one of the most popular comedians today. This forum loves to hate Amy Schumer, but her drunk feminist persona is just the sorority slut version of the non-bitchy feminist comedian persona Fey carved out: smart, informed, incisive, sarcastic, but not pretentious or hostile (as opposed to the Janeane Garofalos of the world). There is an emphasis on political comedy, too, that female comedians historically have always eschewed unless they were obnoxious types like Garofalo.

Whoever one prefers I see them all as disciples of Fey. I think Wiig is a more talented performer, certainly, but Fey is hands down the best writer, and really sort of the architect of this loose school/movement in the early 21st century.

She's sort of the female Jon Stewart: king and queen of Gen X comedy.

I didn't realize Fey was a writer for SNL and such a driving force for that group. I loved her portrayal of Sarah Palin, I think that was my favourite of her's.

Regarding Poehler, I liked her prior to SNL when she was on Conan, but her roles were usually the same - the nerdy assistant/college kid. But SNL was the big leap for her and it certainly rounded her out as a comedic actress. I hadn't seen Wet Hot American Summer (the 2001 movie) until just recently and then watched the Netflix series - I could see the development between the two productions.

Yeah, I think in general female comedy took a giant step in the last half dozen (or a bit more) years. And I really only started recognizing it when Bridesmaids came out. But that film allowed me to look a bit further back and appreciate female contributions more than I had. I used to regularly say that female comics and comedies sucked. Not anymore.

Watched part of an episode because of Kat.

Quickly lost interested and flipped over to the Rocketeer.

Just the previews look terrible. Kat is hot though.

This show started during the time I had no cable or internet, lol, and only had like 4 channels. At the time I thought it was good, but when your options are limited I guess it's easy to look "good" compared to the likes of 100 Huntley Street and CBC news lmao. Haven't watched it since getting satellite tho, I think I tried to watch it again but eh, wasn't interested anymore.

Also
the real MVP of the show
duh

The blond would get the high hard one all night from me.

Kat dennings sometimes looks like she has slight retardation. If not for the Jumbo sweater puppies no one would ever glance her way.
