It was an occupation. You have the right to protest. You do not have the right to violate the human rights of innocent people in the process.

To be honest, when you mentioned the Dom it kinda woke me up a bit. It's easy to forget that we are talking to real people on here.

It doesn't sound like anyone has been hiding anything. Seems it's mostly pretty well recorded which is why it's easy to "uncover".

I suspect most people aren't against cutting waste but are just sceptical that it's remotely possible to make effective cuts in the time it's taking to do it without making a humongous amount of fuck ups.

How? When the stuff is so obvious? Some of this stuff has been known for a long time. Just no one ever did anything about it. These guys aren't uncovering secret mystery waste and fraud. That stuff will happen, but right now it's all the obvious stuff. What I do for a living is related. How in the hell could the government NEVER renegotiate or audit contracts? That is gross negligence or someone is getting paid. If a worker has no formal job responsibilities, is that a job the taxpayers should be ok with? Why would we be ok with what USAID is really about? This is all about hating on Trump. He is finally draining the swamp and some very rich people on BOTH sides are getting scared. The left should be loving it, and would be if Biden had done it.

IDK I'm not an expert but from what I've read about the cuts to VA for example it doesn't seem to have been that careful and seems like it will have a real world impact.
