Yeah CGI is a lot better nowadays than it was in the 90's the level of detail and integration into scenes is exponentially higher

I wouldn't completely count out a Fishburne/Weaving appearance. That's a lot of money to leave on the table, and it does look like they'll be messing with time and possibly multiple universes in this one. I think at the very least, you'll see Fishburne or Weaving at the end or in a post credit scene to amp people up for a sequel.

I also wouldn't be surprised if they red the script, thought it was awful and passed.

I don't think the Matrix works anymore. Like a lot of older sci-fi movies. technology has really caught up to the concepts, and what was once unimaginable is no so unimaginable now. The movie concept is far more flawed today to the average dumbshit than it was 20 years ago.

Almost everything in that trailer except for the people is CGI. That wouldn't have even been possible when the first Matrix came out.

I’ll give it a watch. The first Suicide Squad taught me how a great song in a trailer can cover up a pile of shit. Hopefully this pans out.

Resurrections are typically viewed as a bad writing device. I doubt they would actually use such a Deus Ex Machina

my guess is that they aren't actually Trinity and Neo but virtual copies of them created in a new matrix. The machines resurrected them or something virtually.

I think the idea is solid, what is not solid is the Wachowski "brothers", they have one amazing hit with a recognizable visual identity followed by films with weak stories. Matrix 1 was great but the follow-up films never came close, maybe having shot both films back to back was the reason.

As a hardcore fan of the the trilogy and supplemental releases, I'm cautiously optimistic. The seem to amp up the abilities in this one.

Cool thing about programmable universe theories is it gives leeway to create a ton of different pathways.

The agent Smith / neo age blending was a nice touch

I am going to watch the next Matrix. full stop. it could get single digits on RT and I am still going to watch.

I think that this will be the last trailer I watch (to avoid spoilers) and I thought it was pretty good. although the only thing that it demonstrated is that the movie will look great. even Lana W detractors would probably agree that all of the W Sister movies look great.

I still have a lot of concerns that it won't be great. on the other hand, I really liked all 3 of the original trilogy. 2 & 3 have grown on me over the years once I stopped comparing them solely to the original
