I was never interested in this series, but this movie looks good.

I don't think the Matrix works anymore. Like a lot of older sci-fi movies. technology has really caught up to the concepts, and what was once unimaginable is no so unimaginable now. The movie concept is far more flawed today to the average dumbshit than it was 20 years ago.

LOTS of movies are like this. Examples would include: Blade Runner, Terminator, Aliens, Total Recal etc

As to this movie, i'd be surprised if it was any good. Have no plans on watching it when it comes out unless people are losing their minds on how great it is.

The aesthetic is off. The special effects and cinematography don't have the same magic the original Matrix did. There was no wow factor, like I was seeing something I had never seen before. Instead, the trailer made the movie look generic.

Looks like it'll be ok but nowhere close to the original. Matrix 2 and 3 where kinda meh, but at least they added a couple of memorable scenes. This new movie looks like a literal rehash.
One thing that kind of bugged me with the trailer is that it centered on reintroducing all the old characters. If the movie has any philosophical ideas to deal with, the trailer should center around that instead of nostalgia. Which makes me suspect this movie doesn't have any ideas.

BTW when I went to play the trailer an ad show up what was the ad about you ask? Well it was a trailer for the the Matrix 4 lol. And before I pressed play I thought if they that too.

I thought the trailer looked alright. I mean, did anyone really expect The Matrix 4 to be anywhere close to the original? Novelty, timing, limits of technology, reduced screen quality (yes) and of course nostalgia now, has a lot to do with how The Matrix turned out as well as it did and became iconic. It was lightning in a bottle and I don't think it'll ever be replicated.

One of the original teasers had the black guy basically being "rebuilt". It is stupidly obvious he's some form of Morpheus, either a younger or a different matrix version etc.

Sure it could be because fishbourne was like nah but who knows? It's so obvious so let's see where the story goes. Also the Morpheus character died in one of the game tie ins or something.

Also someone saying it's woke matrix....as if the original matrix wasn't full of fucking alt culture people? It's just 20 odd years later black and leather ain't as alt as it used to be...so hey blue hair girl

*Does Keanu now have to have the same hair and beard style for every role? Its like he's trying to bring John Wick's popularity to every role he takes.

*So.... Neo has amnesia? Trinity is also alive? And they're both in the Matrix and Morpheous tries to get them out? So is this a sequel/reboot?

*The music sounds like the generic 'Lets put a classic 60s/70s song up front and center to get boomers to buy tickets.

*Aside from a few cool action shots there's absolutely nothing here that make me want to see this, ever, unless some trustworthy reviews are good.

I'm not sure I would characterize it as a rehash. Its the next iteration of the Matrix isn't it? As in, it always starts and ends in a similar way. Isn't that what the Architect told Neo, that there had already been 7 iterations or something, so Resurrections would be the 8th.

Makes more sense to me that its closer to a sequel than a reboot. The Architect told Neo that this plays out over and over. This feels more like the "8th iteration" or whatever number they are up to.
