Do you mean the same Woodley that was extremely wrestling based throughout his early career and was booed so mightily for his wrestling performances he was all but forced to fall in love with his hands? Got you. Versus Maia who has forced other great fighters into a keep distance spar fest to avoid the ground and coast to an easy win formula because Maia had no standup but was hard to tee off on? Bringing up Leon here actually brings up a poinnt as his style would be even more boring if he were allowed to fight the way he wanted to however AT ALL TIMES the ref is looming to break up him grinding against the octagon which is basically the standing version of what Khamzat and Islam did recently. I think Leon has quite a few boring fights but he also doesn’t have the popularity of a GSP to meter out the fact he just wasn’t exciting all the time. It’s weird that you think Leon could have fought Usman any other way because technically Usman was a superior fighter and Leon only had a prayer in winning by sticking to a game plan as he should have.

10 years ago GSP and mighty mouse were considered "boring" but the average GSP or mighty mouse fights had WAY less crotch sniffing and way more actual combat. Even GSP vs condit, which you agree is just okay, Look at the difference in strikes thrown and landed in this fight vs trash like woodley vs maia. Maia couldn't land 6 strikes around. Woodley couldn't land 12. That's not even significant strikes. THATS TOTAL STRIKES.

Even i used to call GSP fights boring, but honestly, I feel like this new generation of crotch sniffers are even more boring. so boring that GSP fights are almost exciting by comparison.

I hated GSP’s fighting style in a lot of fights and I will not allow the slander of GSP that it was aa bad as Khamzat or Islam’s latest offering. TO BE FAIR I had a feeling Islam would pull this halfway thru the first fell asleep and woke up and saw the 5th and wish I didn’t

When Belal fought Leon, I wanted Leon to win more than anything. He’s English like myself, and the way Belal was carrying on pre fight it built the fight more. By the end of the fight Belal had earned my respect with his performance. He was in the pocket trading, mixing things up with his grappling to do damage. I had to take my hat off to him

Tonight I wanted JDM to win. What we saw take place was tragic. Just like Khamzat’s performance vs DDP. Eastern fighters are killing the sport, they are completely bereft of any semblance of showmanship
