"I think we present Chimaev the biggest challenge at this moment. Here's the thing, they're stuck in a cage, right? Your principle should be all surrounding that.
So conditioning has to be number one, your grappling orientation and understanding of grappling has to be the first technical thing. If you go into a cage to fight
and your cardio isn't on par or your grappling isn't on par, it's not looking good for you.

And especially if you're going in there to fight a guy like Chimaev, where you know that it's going to be that type of fight. But you also know that if you put someone,
like Chimaev, in a position where he has to scramble a lot... His conditioning is good when he's on top. When he's never forced to scramble and work himself up,
down, up, down, up, down. Those principles and understanding of what you're doing is a must or you're going in to the fight handicapped in the positions you
need to be best in."

So how do you look at that fight stylistically for Anthony?

"The one thing I can tell you is we're not gonna be on the back-foot. It's not gonna happen. Chimaev doesn't get to dictate what's happening. We understand that
he's probably gonna shoot but then we will too. So we're gonna meet in the middle like DDP. And see who can outfinagle and outscramble who in that position.
And who has the better conditioning and awareness in those spots.

Of course it's easy when you're on top all the time and people concede the takedown. I don't wanna say that DDP conceded the takedown, but in theory he kinda
did because he didn't know how to get up, right? He didn't really know how to get up and just tried to muscle his way out of things. Well, that's not gonna work.
So our gameplan will be all for Anthony Hernandez, like, we don't change who we are. We're gonna go out and do what's best, and shove it down your throat.
You're gonna be forced to stop us. We know Chimaev is gonna do the same thing... we'll see what happens."

Only read the title.

The thing is Fluffy does dictate where the fight goes in all of his fights. He goes forward, puts on pressure, takes guys down etc etc and just keeps grinding them.

Chimaev is also the same type of fighter, he controlls where the fight goes hence it will be clash of similarish fighting style hence both are aggressive as fuk and try to impose their game from the get go.

I think Fluffy´s team should know better that they won´t be able to enforce their game and dictate where the fight goes as Khamzat is the far superior wrestler here which means Chimaev will dictate where the fight goes and we haven´t seen Fluffy in that situation as he is use to being the bully and hammer in all of his fights

It's a great matchup, but Fluffy injury history is concerning. Will he be able to improve upon his performance against Dolidze?

I don't see the fight going past the first round. Hernandez is a grimy, pressure fighter, who can overwhelm a lot of fighters just by being tenacious. He's made it this far, no knock to him he climbed up, but his level of competition is nowhere near the skill level of Chimaev or the elite. I think Chimaev chokes him out. Hernandez doesn't have KO power, nor the type of BJJ/grappling that would make Chimaev worried. I think a lot of people are working themselves up for a huge disappointment if they eventually fight.

i think his gameplan is solid, but it depends on what Khamzat does too. if Khamzat goes for the finish early Fluffy better have the best defense to his GnP/submissions. if Khamzat tries to play the DDP strategy on Fluffy and Fluffy can put pressure by being proactive and making Khamzat work, i can see Fluffy losing the fight until Khamzat succumbs to the forced activity and then Khamzat losing in the later rds.

Fluffy really fucked himself pulling outta the rdr fight, he coulda looked like a world beater and put himself at the front of the line
He fought with hurt ribs in February. I dont think hed pull out if he didn't have to

The guy is awesome but I agree as I am not really sure he will get close enough to through the nasty elbows that really fucked with dolideze (whatever his name is). I mean DDP is a big fuC%$r and it was nothing for Borgz. DDP also never tiered and still looked dangerous for 15 seconds in the 5th.

Hopefully, but after seeing how rdr looked in the Allen fight I’d be willing to bet he wishes he’d have fought

Maybe you should watch the beginning of the Rodolfo Vieira fight if you think Fluffy hasn't been the nail?

The issue with DDP is he couldn't defend the takedowns at all or get back to his feet. Khamzat isn't gonna get tired if he gets super easy takedowns and stays on top the whole time. If Fluffy can make Khamzat work for the takedowns and force scrambles, maybe Khamzat will get tired. It's a pretty big if but hey, Khamzat is undefeated for a reason.

I think fluffy has very low.chances of success
He is winning fights based on cardio. The problem is that he cant survive round 1. khamzat will just overwhelm him
