Strongest ufc welter weight ever

I’m seeing some Hector nominations, he was notorious for sparring extremely hard against HW’s because he’d break other fighters of similar size and stature. He was also known for being a bully who was a severely afflicted with the Napoleonic complex. The idiot couldn’t dial back the intensity and had several instances where sparring turned into real fights, and because he sparred with Heavyweights he got his ass beat and kicked out of a few gyms. Josh Barnett evidently subdued Hector during one of these occasions, he basically laid on top of the dude and wouldn’t let him up while lecturing him about good gym etiquette, ethics, and a being a team player…lol.
Is this true? I heard he is a prick. I was so glad when he got his ass handed to him by magny, then by Anthony Smith haha.

So did Josh really kick his butt in training? Lmao.
Honestly it's true. He was too strong and big for most WWs when he was riding. Fucking overgrown midget bully wannabe.

Usman or Hughes, super close.

Hughes
Hendricks
Lombard
Gsp
Woodley

Would be my suggestion...hughes was something else man... several times he has picked people off the ground and carried them standing ..i dont mean like a body snatch i mean from the floor to his shoulder...

Hendricks was clearly physically stronger then GSP in there fight but GSP had better timing and technique...

Lombard very similar to Hendricks ...

Woodley had to be strong...no way he wasnt boy had glutes for days
I also do believe woodley was either roiding or injuries affected him. Look at his physique for lawler and up all the way till wonderboy 2. He lookd huge. Muscular. Shredded. Could be age too. Not sure. He looked so small vs usman and after compared to what he was prior to the till fight.

Hendrick’s manhandled GSP in their fight so your #1 loses to someone not even in your top 5.
Complete fail.
Agreed. Hendricks

Hendricks at his best number 1 for strength
Usman or lawler 2
Then woodley
Khamzat
Would say Sean brady as well
Lastly probably go with ponzinibbio

Underrated strength.

I would say probably injuries he competed under USADA for a while and was successful so i dont think it would be from being super juicy...i mean look at Hendricks post Usada career

I think TS means best or something to that extent, not strongest.

Yeah and since Lombard never did a muscle up before that he didn't have the timing or technique so it's even more impressive.
It's possible to do muscle ups on pure explosiveness, and that's precisely how Hector did them at first.

Looking at Hector's back this dude's probably been able to rep pull ups at will since he was a kid.

What do you think explosiveness is and what type of training do you think you do to improve it?

There's lots you can do to train it but if you ain't born with the fast twitch muscle fiber that Lombard is you ain't gonna be able to do what he can do. These freaks from Cuba are another breed.

you literally have no idea what you're talking about lol, continue on out of your realm bro cheers
LMAO, you sound like you're talking to a mirror.

You say muscle ups are about timing and technique in regards to someone who's never done them, as if he somehow already has the timing and technique down without ever having done one, if you can't see how that doesn't make sense you're a damn fool.

My point was you can't be explosive without being strong, and strength training is how you improve that.

Hughes was arguably declining by the time he fought GSP, at the very least he was before they rematched. I think you're still thinking that wrestling is all about strength and its not I think Alves was stronger than GSP when they fought he just wasn't as good of a defensive wrestler as someone like Hendricks is.
No I wrestled in high school, not much of a feat since growing up in the Midwest basically everyone wrestles lol. Granted that was about 20 years ago but I’ve got a pretty good idea what it looks like when two people tie up and one of them is just plain stronger.

Sonnen talked about how strong he was and it seems unlikely that GSP was a better wrestler than him given his acumen. On top of that even if we put them on the same plane in terms of skill (which is the most I can do since Chael was a national champion), he’s still a good deal bigger than GSP so we would have to then say that GSP is at least as strong as Sonnen, which would be pretty goddamn strong for a ww.

I very well could be wrong, it may be that his success was based entirely on technique and speed and timing, all of which were attributes GSP possessed. If that was all I was relying on I’d be less confident but everything together makes it seem like the most likely answer.

That is to say:
He appeared strong against opponents known to be strong
People who trained with him talked about how strong he was
People who were better pure wrestlers talked about how strong he was.

I was listening to an MMA radio show and they had a coach on air, I cannot remember exactly who, but he brought up the circumstances around why Hector had changed gyms and left with animosity. He told the entire story from when he joined the camp, all the fucked stuff he pulled up until Hector left the gym.

This thread is about p4p strength, world's strongest men are not p4p that strong cause they carry a lot of fat. You're talking about who is strongest regardless of weight.

20 muscle ups in a row from someone who's never done them is impressive as hell and shows a very high level of strength relative to someone size.
It's not about p4p strength at all.

Its just who is the strongest WW. Mention of P4P is not relevant. Its already implied by the fact that you are limiting to people all within one weight category.

Execution of a feat of endurance is still not a measure of strength, however it is dressed up.

It absolutely is about pound-for-pound there's a weight limit that's been set and who is the strongest at that weight. LMAO.

Mikey Burnett? Sherdog's fighter page says he was 170lbs.

Muscle ups are more about timing, athleticism and technique that require a certain bit of strength, but strength isn't the main ingredient.

Strength is the ONLY ingredient when you've never done one before and don't even know what they are.
