Haven't posted here since, 01-12-2006, 09:26 PM, back on page 3, interesting to see your progress! We were even back then.... *cough*...

i just got my degree too. So hows your training going to go once you enter the dreaded after uni-life?

My training is going to have to change gear, i'm joining the army in september, lots more running, much less heavy lifting.

I'm off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz!

But by wizard I mean x-ray department, Army insists I get my wrists fully checked out.

Well of course, they couldn't possibly hire a dude who can't fwap properly, he just wouldn't survive...

My x-rays are on Monday.

You can drop by on either day, just let me know a little in advance to make sure I'm awake and not out running or some shit (plus I have to make sure the pungee pit is primed properly).

Good luck mate

It won't be today, but I will send you a text such that you have my number and so that you can prepare the pungee pit (?) for sunday

yeah im not sure what a pungee pit is either...im guessing it's some kind of pit though...

a Punji pit is a pit of spikes, where the spikes are made from bamboo or other type of stiff plantlife.

They were used as traps by the vietcong during the vietnam conflict. I don't say "war" because war was never declared on north vietnam.

Alan gets 20 random useless trivia points. They're a fucker to dig in concrete BTW, hang on... maybe I should have dug it in the lawn rather than the driveway.

yeah, but why would i walk on your lawn.....where there could be trip wires....and badgers

i'm onto you

Yesterday's upper body work

Bench:
10 (22) x10
50 (110) x3
70 (155) x3
90 (198) x3
105 (231) x3
120 (264) x3,2,1,1,1
Matched my old 3RM, got a fair bit of volume up there. Was a pretty decent workout, bench should go up soon.

Horizontal pullups, chins, pullups and an assload of external rotation exercises. A little levering.

In other news: X-rays were clean, went for follows up with Dr, he takes one look at my wrist and says "Well that's a ganglion". Thank you, I've only been saying that for about 8 years. I've been referred to a hand specialist, looks like i'm likely to require an excision surgery (the cut open my wrist and cut the ganglion off, then sew up the weak spot). I will of course endeavour to take pictures of the surgery should it occur.

Good news on the x-rays

Also news after speaking to chris.

He wants the power rack and bench, but he has set in his mind to get a OL bar and weights, and its his money (although before it was mine), so not much I can say about it.
We're looking at this weekend or next weekend depending on availability on the van.
I also need to check he knows he's paying for this

THat's cool, the deal was always 'take what you want, the rest goes on eBay or in the local paper', i'm just happy my powerrack is going to a good home and will be lifted in properly (even if it is with rather meagre weights :) ).

Let me know when you work out a time to come pick it up and how much you want it disassembled.

Cheeky barsteward

I'll be happy when I can actually dl using chalk. My hands come apart when I try over 160-170 with just sweat on them.

I'll let you know when I know mate

I rolled up a frying pan, it was an old one I found in a box of stuff I was throwing out, sides got flattened in and the back bowed out, but I couldn't get the sides to meet, videoed it but probably won't bother posting it until I do one i'm happy with.
